  • Hello all,

Im using C2 (r183) and I am having a problem creating an AdMob banner. I can create an interstitial just fine but no luck creating an AdMob banner. I spent 4 hours last night trying all different combinations of banner placement but no banner appears when I run the app on my phone (Android). I used 'banner on layout' but nothing shows.

Anyways, has anybody had any luck with creating and showing an AdMob banner?

    Thanks all.

  • Thanks all - I was using the Crosswalk page BUT only added one icon. I will see what happens if I add all sized icons.

  • Hello all,

Every time I build an app (Android) with Crosswalk, I add an icon (72 x 72) but the icon never shows on the device itself. I always get the default C2 icon listed in the devices page of apps.

    Any ideas as to why?

    Thanks so much.

  • ...glad it worked for you.

  • Hello,

Did you update BOTH places in your build options page? Both have to be incremented.

    HTH.

  • Try it and see!

Depending on what you're wanting to edit, you might try custom movement behavior.

    Works great! thanks

  • Hello,

I changed to '8Direction' and this seems more natural but is this behavior editable?

    Thanks!

  • Hello all,

I have a moving sprite that moves on a button press for left, right, up, and down. All works well except for the fact that the sprite stops 'suddenly'(Movement = 5). This seems unreal behavior. For example, if a car was travelling and a user hits 'STOP' it would not stop instantly but slow and then stop.

Is there a way to make a sprite stop in a more 'gradual' fashion?

    Thanks all!

Completely agree. I said 'it works' (AdMob) but it 'aint pretty.

For me, the biggest hassle is having to test 'ads' on a physical device AFTER building/submitting in XDK. Then if its wrong, you have to make your edits in C2, export to XDK, upload your changes, download your new APK and on and on...I have used Eclipse in the past for android and its emulator shows you everything - Ads, different screen sizes etc.

I think somehow simplifying the Android / Mobile export would make C2 a lot more attractive to developers.

  • Google play uses The minimum version you set(in Crosswalk) as a way to block phones from downloading if they dont meet your requirements... What Android version does your phone use?

My thoughts too but I believe his/her phone is the 'moto e' which ships with Kit Kat (4.4) which should be supported by Crosswalks defaults - unless the OP changed the value.

  • AdMob works for for me too (r183). However, I'm sure you know that the ads only appear when tested on a device or emulator (not XDKs emulator nor in C2 preview).

  • UPDATE: Approved and listed on Amazon with no issues. Thanks again.

  • Thanks again - medal awarded
