  • Derqs no prob.

Just a suggestion for the spikes: instead of placing all the bones in front of the spikes, maybe add some behind? Or have each spike object dynamically spawn their own bones in a certain position on itself and randomly fore or aft itself?

May be a bit complex for such a small detail, but perhaps if you've some extra time for polish. : )

  • rexrainbow I'm currently using it to sync objects as well, not just messages, but basically everything the Multiplayer plugin is set to do.

  • rexrainbow I realize it is "better," however, so far it has been much simpler to manage a client-server connection using separate server and client projects, and I've yet to run into any issues.

What I'm asking is if there is, in fact, some limitation I might run in to by not having the client and host be one project, because so far no one has noted any such limitations. : )

  • [quote:pe2t8zpe]In official MP, the host and client should be put in the same capx.

In firebase, they might be in different capx.

Is there a reason for this? I made a very basic test server and client, and so far I have had no issues having separate projects for each. :p

Will I run into problems down the line, do you think, using the C2 Multiplayer plugin if I continue?

  • I feel like I might give it a shot if this next release cycle doesn't add any more physics features. But until then, it kinda seems like jumping the gun, so to speak, since this next release cycle does in fact seem to be related to expanding or at least developing the physics a bit more.

  • Derqs looking good! I must say, out of the projects I've seen on the forums, yours is starting to look like the one I'm most anticipatory of. : )

If you ever opening up testing I'd love to give it a shot.

Also, suggestion for your first post: place your latest (embedded) screenshot/GIF first, where you have your current one, and "archive" your previous images/GIFs with links below said latest.

  • Suggestion: scale your screenshots down so we can see them better.

Otherwise, sounds like an interesting game! Keep up the posts. : )

  • I'm planning on pathfinding, but only for server-side objects. Have you only run into errors when using it with clients? Or have you tried it with said server-sided objects as well?

  • Did you check the comments? Most of us don't use events, we use

    floor(VARIABLE*100)/100[/code:3awzaat5] which means that:

    Input: 31265.3167
    Output: 31265.31

Edit: I'm only not sure if using int or floor is best practice, or if it even matters.
  • I'm still hopeful about the Tilemap object. Like I said here, there are little things that would make it significantly more useful.

I (and I think like many of us here) don't want more features, I want updates - updates to all the little things that make C2, not big additions that get placed on the backburner after release.

It would be amazing to see Ashley take some of the 3rd party plugins and integrate them with C2, rather than an "oh, there's already an alternative, if you need xyz feature, use that one" stance.

  • What has worked for me is to start FRAPS first, and then, say, Chrome. Perhaps it is the same for NW? I will see if I can get FRAPS to somehow record.

Also, like Tokinsom said, OBS is becoming much more popular, and free, since FRAPS has no ability to stream. OBS is very much the Swiss Army Knife of recording tools, and if your game is exported to NW, I suggest you mention that to players, and get them to save their money and put it towards better software. FRAPS is dying ware only persisting on their previous fame.

  • Yeah, when r196.2 was first released, it was fine. All of a sudden yesterday it became something auto-blocked by Chrome. Very strange, and a false-positive.

  • Was already noted here:

If you don't already know how to save it, do this: Ctrl + J

(to get to Chrome downloads page)

  • Try Construct 3

  • Sisyphus I realized that. Forgot to let the download occur all the way, and to edit my original post, which I will now do. : )

My post above still stands, though.

  • Somebody Sorry, I was wrong about the dropdown. It seems Google changed how the block works from previous versions. Just go to your downloads (shortcut Ctrl + J), and do the below. Again, Chrome never completely blocks files.
