  • rexrainbow you're the best! It's a shame incentivized ads are gone though. Ah well, it's awesome to see virtual goods and creds available!!

  • Hey peeps! Some updates, actually. New information in the top post and you can check out the updates!

As Jeb said, you might need to use Firefox or Opera, but incognito mode in Chrome may work.

  • Booping this thread back up again. Any more progress? Discussion?

  • Something I've noticed in my friend group, whom I tend to send little game ideas and progress of mine, is that if I leave any audio at a 0db volume, it's usually a huge no-no.

Most of the time, a good default winds up being an average of -20db. Of course, with C2 I usually just set the overall volume modifier to that. So that's nice. But after I start adding audio options, I always make sure that the default is between way too quiet and loud.

Anyone else have experience blowing out their friend's eardrums with default audio volumes?

  • Anyone have any new news? It's been a while so I thought I'd check in.

  • awesome, thank you!

  • FraConsole Ofris I discovered that AirConsole says they share 75% of ad revenue. However, I don't see support for showing ads in the Construct2 plugin? Or is it similar to Kongregate where ads are shown before the game loads?

  • Artpunk great work communicating with Kongregate. I'd still love to see Ashley maintaining an official one but if someone else wants to tackle it power to 'em.

broknecho are you joking about "I would want everyone to use the plugin except ..."?

I still check on this thread occasionally. Good to see some form of progress.

  • I would love for Kongregate to produce one of their own. I really would. What I'm primarily frustrated by is that I already paid one side of this equation and that's where I would expect more development from.

This is what I would need at a minimum to even be interested in something like Construct 3. Otherwise Scirra's gonna have a helluva time competing against Unity and Epic.

  • newt Kongreagate is useful for pitching short and small games. I'm not pushing my work to some random publisher, nor should I be expected to. Kongregate is incredibly easy to use and upload to and modify, as well as get payouts. I'm also not paying some third party for a plugin that is supposedly provided by Scirra.

So either Ashley needs to deprecate the damn plugin and discontinue support for it, or he needs to update it to the modern era.

One of the two need to be done before anyone considers paying out of pocket for other solutions. I already paid a LOT for this engine, when there are plenty of free ones (Unreal and Unity right off the bat, and don't anyone dare pretend like they can hit the royalties minimum without going at it full time for at least a year) and hell, even Game Maker's been on sale for down to a dollar (Humble Bundle). Practically free right there.

I would expect to have to purchase more third party export solutions if it weren't for the fact that Construct 2's base price is $130 (albeit currently on sale for $90).

  • Aphrodite that's a good point, and I think Ashley and crew need to make a decision, and then update their Construct 2 information page: https://www.scirra.com/construct2

It specifies Kongregate as a viable publishing outlet for Construct 2, but that is only true by definition, not by value. Deprecate or bust.

  • Hooray! A seconder! Seriously though, anyone using Tilemaps would vouch for this feature if they heard about it. Thanks for the post!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I was actually really hoping the new API could be implemented. C2 is a web game development platform first and foremost. This would help users publish on the very platform C2 is built around. The publishing-related plugins available are the only reason Construct 2 is useful more than Unreal Engine 4. Otherwise, that's a high profile engine that is significantly more useful.

Can't say I'm surprised in the end.

  • sidneycat certainly. Always a price. Are you seeking a license to host? Or you are interested in the source code? Or would like to purchase the entire game?

  • R0J0hound but what if the object is not changing? They are testing with a static object with platform that can be disabled or enabled with spacebar, and is immobile while measuring where the CPU usage is.

I would expect that there be no draw calls if the platform object is not moving even if platform is enabled. This is not the case.

There could be a legitimate reason, I understand, but currently the only variable here while testing is whether or not the platform behavior is enabled or disabled, and that's where the confusion is, I think.
