  • This build refuses to run.

    C:\Program Files\Scirra\Construct\Construct.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I thought there could be a conflict due to installing 0.99.4 alongside 0.99.3 (the only other Construct build on this computer) but then I tried uninstalling both and then just installing 0.99.4 and it made no difference. Tried restarting, too.

I notice this happened earlier when another user was using sandboxie, but I'm not. I'm just trying to run the program on a normal Windows XP installation.

  • Here it is:

Run this in 0.99.3 to see what it's supposed to do, then run it in 0.99.4 to see the difference. A hotfix on this would be super-swell (that is, if it's easy to do and stuff...)

LOS workaround is to set from 360 angle range to 361 nad it will see all around.

Yep, it seems there is an easy workaround for this. And apparently the issue is that if the angle difference between the two objects is exactly 180 then that's where the problem occurs. As Doppel pointed out in chat, if you flip the eye around 180 then the problem happens on the right side instead of the left.

Anyway, the 361 fix should work for now

  • Hmm, I'm thinking I set up the build config wrong on my new laptop, which might be causing the incorrect-config errors. I think I know how to fix it and I'll try follow up a new build soon.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • my apps get that when i dynamically link /MD in linker settings instead of statically linking with /MT. otherwise theres tons of dependancy issues with redistribution. msdn tries to explain it but i have never figured it out. give it up to microsoft for making everything so damn complicated.

  • add the ability to adjust layer effect parameters at runtime. pwetty pwease.

PS: Davo, your voice is awesome for tutorials. Huzzah!

  • SpriteIndex Is the best option ever.

    With a cherry on top!

  • I would like to see a Animation index as well.

yeah I have the same problem too

  • Well, this release installs and runs ok, but anything I try and preview with the build gives the same error message about an unexpected error occurring.

I was looking forward to giving the Xbox360 controller plugin a good workout, but there's nothing I can do with this build.

    Sponge.

  • Works fine for me.

intel quad core Q8200, gainward hd 3850, 2 gig ddr2

    Maybe some hardware incompatibility?

  • BTW:

Guys, don't forget about Bone Behaviour! It still needs to be fixed! You know, that bone object multiplying issue!

Otherwize great release! Got some noticeable speed improvement! I couldn't test my project in 99.4 but I suspect that's because I started my project with 98.5(works fine in 98.9). Menus are awesome: the program design goes better and better! Other things are also great but sometimes Construct crashes at unexpected moments so I still use 98.9 build. Waiting for 1.0.

  • That bone behavior bug seems to have been fixed, its not on the list though.

  • If I wanna start the runtime of a Sein Layout, Construct gives me this error message:

"Errors occurred compiling one of the FX files in your Effects directory. The application will run with effects disabled. You need to fix the FX script or stop using it, before effects can run correctly in this application."

The problem is that it doesn't tell me which FX file fucks up - Debug Layout doesn't help either.
