  • When UserMedia was first introduced to us mortals, there was no way to support proper audio capture other than mic but today there IS, as C3 shows.

I know it's kinda awkward to ask today, understanding that C2 is retired and doing that may be a huge work but could anyone make a behavior for UserMedia or make a totally new video+sound recorder plugin please?

And another smaller thing - a separate in-game audio recorder.

EDIT: probably hugely unrealistic but an option to exclude some layers from video capture would be cherry on a pie.

  • I know Construct 2 will stop getting support completely soon yet I have just one small-ish request since I have a little something to finish (and can't switch to C3 at the moment):

I'm trying to check if a certain path is a file or directory and spent a lot of time implementing this feature via events, still can't make the formula completely foolproof but after a few days of search I found this: stackoverflow.com/questions/15630770/node-js-check-if-path-is-file-or-directory

Is it possible to apply this in C2 by any chance?

I understand if it's not but would be grateful if it is.

An event workaround would be great too.

    Forward thanks!

  • Yeah that was my first thought but I was a bit confused when it didn't work for me. Turns out I created objects and set some parameters in one condition and then added some other parameters in 'on created' condition. Moving all parameter actions into 'on created' solved the issue.

  • Got a question though: how to make this work not on layout start but when an instance is spawned?

EDIT: nevermind, I figured out all instance actions must be stored in one condition be it on created or anything else, otherwise some stuff doesn't work.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Grand help, thanks a lot! \m/

  • Sorry I think the name of the topic is misleading a bit, lemme change it.

Actually your code works but it's not quite what was I looking for. I'm trying to grow or shrink objects via improvised slider which is a sprite because standard slider can't register changes on every tick.

  • Tried that before and it didn't work but thanks for suggesting.

I bet it's all obviously simple but I've been away from C2 for too long so kinda having trouble here:

Like picture shows I'm trying to change the size of several instances like on the right side but I get exactly the same size for all objects like on the left. I used sine behavior for demonstration but I'm looking to control the sizes via improvised slider. Like friends suggested I add for each but unfortunately it doesn't help either.

    Forward thanks, people!

Welp, I trust what folks say but it's sooo interesting to see how it goes! Who knows, maybe against all odds this exporter's gonna be a godsend! I'm always all hands for new stuff!

  • Thanks! Sometimes I have those times when I want to "FX" stuff left and right

  • Game looking great! Made a subtle remix of your title screen, just for fun -

  • Yeah, man, you need to add some space bettween letters. It may be a bit hard but will work for sure.

  • Try using sine behaviour with rotation on the spine object and you'll understand what am I talking about
