  • -_- atl.

  • new stable release soon? its been 7 months? 8 months? since the last "stable" build?

  • stable yet?

this plugin, as someone pointed out earlier in the thread introduce object oriented design possibilities to construct, especially when combined with the function object, which we will explore in later lessons. because of this, i believe this plugin will be useful to people with a programming background. given how central indexing and looping are to the plugins use, i thinkk 1 indexing would be hindering and inconveiencing many of those users. also, personally, i hope it is changed to 0 indexing in construct 2.

just give the plugin the option to set the index base. 1 or 0. both parties satisfied. problem solved.

  • my apps get that when i dynamically link /MD in linker settings instead of statically linking with /MT. otherwise theres tons of dependancy issues with redistribution. msdn tries to explain it but i have never figured it out. give it up to microsoft for making everything so damn complicated.

  • still no new stable release? sadzorzz

  • seems like a lot is getting done. great job. but the release number is inscreasing awfully fast. .98.9 to .99.3? you'll get to 1.00.0 if youre not careful xD. hopefully a stable version soon?

  • "neither of which translates well on the internet" -_-

in any case it doesnt have to be super realistic. its just too super UNrealistic atm. you dont need a physics engine to calculate a new direction and speed for the basic car movement. its simple trig / vector math.

even reducing the bounce to about 1/3 or 1/4 the force that the car had hitting an object would make it better. unless thats already an option in the behavior? in that case the user is at fault.

  • attan thats the point. hes saying the movement in general is broken.

a car does not bounce straight back when it hits a wall at an angle. the energy should be transfered, and there should be minimal bounce with the car continuing to move forward along the wall, even when driving perpendicularly straight into a wall there would be little to no bounce.

edit: i just read your post again and realized the wording. either youre being sarcastic or ignorant. neither of which translates well on the internet. either way the movement is unsatisfactory.

  • what do you mean by "updates"? major? minor? fixes?

directx 9 updates every 4 months. and it just updated in march so expect another release late July to early august.

check the wiki and the msdn page for recent changes and upcoming changes/additions.

directx 11 comes out spring/summer this year.

  • how exciting. how long are you going to spend (ie how many builds) do you think will be between 0.99.0 and 1.00.0

standard x.99.x builds? (10 more builds)

x.99.x + letter builds? (10+ or more builds)

x.99.xx builds? (upwards of a f*** ton of builds xD)

anywhere from 10 up i assume.

i really cant wait to see all the post 1.0 progess. thats where the most awesome stuff will come. 1.0 will only be a small landmark of whats to come.

  • hows 0.99.0 coming along?

  • just something i noticed that probably doesnt make a difference depending on what youre developing with. but youre still including the c++ 2005 redist instead of the 2008 sp1 which is for apps built in VS2008 sp1

not sure if it makes a difference depending on if you're using visual studio 2005 or 2008, just something i noticed.

  • i figured out what was wrong.

i guess theres a problem with the standard windows appearance 'high contrast white' and construct.

it started working after i changed it. so i changed it back to 'high contrast white' and it caused the problem again. i have no idea what the problem is with that appearance setting but that seems to be the culprit.

  • all of them do it for me. i positioned all of the boxes unhidden to a satisfactory arrangement though. so im happy.
