Hi all,

I've been thinking of putting a small event together as an experiment. It would just be something like heading to a pub in London to have an informal chat and a few drinks. I think it would be a nice change to forums and emails to actually meet in person!

Some ideas if this went ahead: meeting/mixing with other C2 users; us finding out about how people really use C2 and what any common pain points are; sharing our perspective/ideas on anything that interests us; talk about startups/business; just socialise and maybe have a fun night!

I know the majority of you in the community are not based in London, or even the UK! However for in-person meetups we have to consider distance, and we are based in London, so perhaps at least a few of you might be here. So this poll is to gauge interest and see how many people potentially could come. We're also aware that a pub might be unsuitable for some people e.g. for cultural reasons, but in London it's a pretty normal thing to do and is easy to organise so we're going with that for the time being.

Vote above to show your interest and we'll think about if this looks like something we can arrange.

    Ashley

  • It would depend on the date. If it was a weekend meetup I can easily go. I could go on weekdays, but with my placement it means I'd be stretched for time. :/

  • That would be awesome, but unfortunately, I'm too far away

I believe you should just organize it anyway and have all UK C2 members that can attend there and post the pictures on the facebook/forums

Might be worth a blog post.

  • Hola yo vivo en Mxico vivo muy alejado de londres suena muy interesante su propuesta lastima que aqui donde yo vivo no se muestre mucho interes en el desarrollo de videojuegos conferencias etc. Saludos.

Hi I live in Mexico live far from london its proposal sounds very interesting shame that here where I live is not shown much interest in game development conferences etc. Greetings.

  • That sounds good to me!

  • I'm too far from London, but the idea I approve. Over a beer or Cup of coffee are often created more ambitious projects than in offices.

  • Kyatric,

As I have come to understand you're from the Netherlands as well,

maybe we could try and do something similar in Holland?

Construct2 meetings all over the world!

  • I'm in London and working on a fairly big C2 project in my spare time. This sounds like a great idea to me :)

  • Brilliant idea, but sadly I do think most of us wouldn't be able to attend.

I go to London at least a couple times a year, but I doubt those visits would ever coincide with a meetup event. Still, I'll keep an eye out for the date and see if I get lucky :)

Otherwise, is anybody going to be at GDC/Gamescom? I'll be at Gamescom, so maybe we could arrange something there?

  • I think I would feel uncomfortable being with people I don't know and are also over 20 years old if not older

  • Sounds like a fun idea.

Currently it's not possible for me. But I might be looking at working in the UK if things go right. If so I'd be around an hour or so away from London. Then I'd be completely onboard, obviously.

  • Sounds like a great idea, I'd be happy to come along!

  • Live streaming for the unfortunate?

  • Bit far but if you are ever down under I would happy to have a natter.

  • Might be cool
