  • Kyatric Ashley - Ok let me ask the question in a different way.

What is the timeline specifically for the Behavior SDK?

  • I really like the way exports work, very nice to use.

I tried it out on the line of sight example which is about 600kb, took about 3 minutes to export to mac64 and ended up 181mb <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked">

Yeah its very big but it's quite straight forward in the ease of use department.

    Androids APK limit is 100mb.

I'm assuming that the Android/iOS publishing will cover this (make it easy to do)

But you can have 2 additional expansion/data files of 2GB each though. https://developer.android.com/google/pl ... files.html

iOS Limiti also 100MB ("Over the air") but can also have additional data with 4GB and can then have addons etc that goes over that.

    Any chance for this?

  • Try Construct 3

  • rex_moveto is a behaviour. C3 doesn't support 3rd-party behaviours yet, or any drawing plugins, so we are all stuck waiting.

    It's available now it seems.

  • Third-party means an addon made by a third-party, not Scirra.

So you should go directly to the author of a C2 third-party addon and ask them the question.

Some SDK is already available for C3 - https://www.scirra.com/forum/plugin-sdk_f196

Yes. What I meant was if the option is currently there for 3rd party users to add behaviours/plugins/effects?

I now see after the Beta was opened up that a C3addon file can be installed. I could not do so before.

How do we add additional effects?

  • When you have the local browser save / open window open you can right click on a file to rename, delete or download a file. Same also works on the cloud dialog.

So that gives you a way to back up files elsewhere without having to open the projects, and clean up to get some extra space. I might add an option in the future to allow you to copy files directly to a different "service", it would make moving files between dropbox, local storage, google drive and onedrive a lot easier. Folders are also on the road map, but not at the top of the priority list.

    Great stuff!

Thanks. The suggested additions will definitely make it a bit more user friendly.

  • Tom is there a timeline for implementing 3rd party Behaviors by any chance?

  • Yeah It's quite hidden, at least we know where to find them now thanks

I see there are some other juicy bits there...

  • What happens when the 4.5gb local storage runs out? I mean what will the user have to do. I suppose one can clear cache etc but you should then first upload to cloud and save or download the build before clearing I guess?

Just something to be aware of.

  • Hi!

Working on a new prototype, a TopDown shooter using Pseudo3D(Black walls like in teleglitch) and real 3D stuff using shaders.

The lastest addition were a camera movement with lerp to the player and a difference when the aim is more close or far from player. Also the camera does a scale-out when player is running and the aim is far to have a bigger vision of the world-area. Also changed the player for one much better in 12 frames(pixel-perfect animation in 8x8)

    Actual gameplay:

    Very cool!

There are thousands of examples and tutorials on the net and on the forum though with more being done daily.

If it's between examples and new features / behaviors I'd take the latter every time.

We hear you loud and clear RE monthly option. Right now as someone else guessed we're too close to change anything. We've had discussions in the office which we're all quite positive about where once you've paid for your first year you can then pay monthly.

Again, this is only internal discussions at the moment, and there's no rush to implement this as we've got a lot of other things to be getting on with and if we did implement it it would take a year before anyone could take advantage of it anyway.

    Perfect and thanks!

    Finally!

    Happy to rent now!

    For the record:

What will retain me more than game jams and examples are:

    More behaviours

    More plugins

    Better / more features

    Better performance

    More export options

    Advertising integration etc.

Don't waste time on examples etc. Please.
