  • it's definitely not abandoned. don't have an exact date, but version r2 should be releasing soon

  • when I go to the scirra arcade, clicking on the game name takes me to the game, but clicking on the "play this game" link seems to be a link to the arcade, so it just refreshes the page

  • thanks everyone. another update soon

Good work Lucid! Can you animate the pivot points? Have you any plan to implement the 2d character creation engine with bones and skinning?

this is unofficial, since I have no timeline as of yet, and whether this would befast enough in js/html5 would require testing to be sure it'd work in c2, but it's definitely something I want(/plan(unofficially)) to add to the editor.

  • Physics behavior should be fine with platform if you set the physics behavior to immovable. Also physics behavior has a problem with uncentered hotspots, so that could be part of the issue

my original guess was wrong it seems, there are portals that also buy games:

if anything I would be aiming at selling the game to consumers, not companies. look for game portals to sell your game, like the chrome store, or your own paypal based site, or ways to support microtransactions in your game. My guess is, unless you figure out how to make the world's most amazing game ever, there's no reason a company would buy a game, as opposed to hire someone to make them.

  • if they are off screen they won't be rendered anyway. so the invisibility won't help, you're better off finding a way to destroy them when they are too far away to matter, and recreate them when they are close again

  • so, as promised, but a few days late, spriter updated vid

all current pro users get to alpha test until beta release. so if you buy today, you get the latest versions until beta release.

in other news, I've quit my dayjob, and I'll be working fulltime for the next half a year or so on mostly spriter, and projects using spriter, so development should be picking up quite a bit.

please ask questions and make suggestions

for current users, just return the workflowy for the link to the latestalpha

aside from bugfixes and some optimizations. the main new addition since last week is the adjustable pivotpoints. press h to change the pivotpoint of an image. this will apply to all instances of this image. you can also do this to multiselections as well, so you can adjust the axis of rotation for a group of selected images as well

  • I think overlapping at offset is like if you were to move your entire character sprite 1 px to the right and 4 pixels up, would it overlap at that new position

I was going to suggest not using a detector exactly, but a marker, like a square indicating a slideable area, you could even simplify events by making it extend slightly to the left and right of the gap. Gives you more control anyway for how it works, so there aren't any unexpected slideable gaps.

put down what needs doing in broad steps

    like

    make game.

then break it down into what needs doing like, coming up with idea, testing idea, making basic gameplay, starting art, etc

then break them down either as you go, or all at once into further steps like phases if you need to, or not if you don't. the idea though is if the list seems overwhelming you can click the circle on the left and fill the screen with only one section and it's subtasks, and if they are too big and still seem overwhelming to start on, break them down even more until you're like "seriously? I can finish this in two minutes"

and if you start crossing those out even one a day

you'd be surprised at how different you feel. trust me I'm an expert on feeling overwhelmed
