  • dop2000 yes I still have some hard time knowing when to use trigger once or not... sometimes I just use to be "safe" and if its useless at least it doesnt affect anything

    thanks

container is working well and when I dont need the particle I will just make it transparent, it will work fine for this project

  • Hey thanks a lot for the last 2 new suggestions,

I have used container as a try out and when the instance variable of an object is 0, the particle will have 0 opacity so it wont appear... but indeed sizcoz suggestion is what I was looking for at first and more effective

  • Thank you, that solves the problem for now.

What if in some layouts I dont want that sprite to have the particles? Can I "cancel the container" in an action?

  • I have set instance variable for both Particle and Sprite, called MyShinyId, and did the above, everything behave crazily and messes up effects

  • Found this post with the same problem:

    construct.net/en/forum/construct-3/how-do-i-8/need-help-pin-149901

But I dont know how to put this at work:

give them both an "ID" variable.

    Then loop like this:

    For Each Sprite

    Particle.myID = Sprite.myID

    pin Particle to Sprite

    How do I set that?

  • The issue is the PIN behavior, each sprite can spawn one particle, but when it needs to be pinned only one sprite is recognized...

I think this is a defect in C3 logic since the system recognize each sprite as unique when spawning another object, but chooses just one random sprite when pinning...

  • Can I automatically give them an unique ID on start of layout and make each ID spawn and pin a particle?

  • Actually just one sprite behave well, spawning the particles just once, all the others have this kamehameha aura around them

So I have 5 sprites and I guess now each of them are spawning 5 particles....

  • dop2000 thank you, it did kinda work, but each sprite is now spawning particles more than once (maybe spawning particles according to the number o sprites), even though I have added "trigger once", did I set it wrongly?

  • That's a good idea, thank you.

I still think it would be useful to have some short cut on the debugger, but I guess this is not really a priority.

  • So I have like a number of different sprites on a layout and at start of the layout each of these sprites (they are the same sprite only with different instance variables) must spawn an particle which is Pinned to the sprite of origin

but what happens is that all spawned particles are pinned to just of the sprites...

    what could I do?

I cant duplicate these sprites to make them unique, that would mess up lots of events and make lots of work...

    any help please?

  • Ok so I'm being a good user and posted as an official suggestion open for voting:

  • R0J0hound and thank you, it worked

I'm sure someone from Construct team will take a note on this for the next release :)

  • R0J0hound it hurts my eyes just to see that math
