  • In other questions...

If I buy a Steam copy, can I use and get a download from here, scirra.com? I don't like using the Steam version.

  • I'm waiting for a sale for months =(

I would love to support Construct but the price is really high for me, since I have no good income ATM (just enough to survive).

Also I haven't used my credit card in a year but will do so whenever Construct 2 goes on sale...

So, pretty please? Else, I'll have to wait like half a year (if I have bad luck) to purchase the Personal version.

  • Yeah, so if there wasn't any native option I was thinking about somehow refreshing the screen way slower =P

Will test soon(tm). Thanks for the logic ;)

  • Hey ome6a1717 - good news, found a method that works!

You can find the post here: scirra.com/forum/webgl-chrome-broken-webfonts_topic64198_post421275.html

Tried with IE, Firefox and Chrome and it worked flawlessly!

No idea if I can actually remove one or two actions from there but I don't care, it really works =P

Edit: it seems that Online fonts don't work when they are on a external server (AKA not localhost), so I'll try with offline fonts ASAP.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Bumping this. Is there really NO way to lower the framerate, and cap it?

I need this for aesthetic and design reasons. If you try to emulate a system you need to frameskip and emulate choppiness too.

This is quite important to me =\</p>

  • Well, no. Nothing I did made Web Fonts useful - I'm using them online, still.

Will try offline Web Fonts and see if I have luck with this, else I'll default to SpriteFonts.

  • It's getting there. Awesome.

And as I said, I'm still very worried about the walking behaviour.

Sometimes guybrush takes a while to start walking (probably you done that, I prefer instant walking).

But I think that what bothers me the most are the smooth animations. Is there a way to lower the engine's FPS to 24 or 30 FPS? I have to make a research about that, but it should be doable and might give that 486 feeling with tons of frameskip =P

    If not, create it artificially.

  • pimbadumba bump

This is the finished version =P

  • hey Oliver, if you manage to do that, I'll be requesting tons of help from you =P

I'll be developing adventure games later on, when I really get the grasp of the whole engine.

If you haven't, please check Fester Mudd Ep. 1. It's FANTASTIC. It's a true successor of Lucasarts games.

What I feel it will be hard in Construct, is the movement. I'm really worried about how Construct might hand the collisions, that's a place where AGS is actually quite solid, it seems.

I've seen your demo and the sprite scalation is worrysome too. It's not like old Lucas games.

  • Bleh, you can do better things with Construct than with MMF2. Construct just needs more attention from the devs and that's it.

I click on "notitle" and it takes me back to the main site and I can't see the reply =(

  • I think this might be a bit "dangerous".

Ashley, I suggest two things so this doesn't fade out over time.

First, make VERY clear the minimum version used for a .capx

And second, try to prevent "tutorials" without explanations. Just uploading a .capx there isn't useful to learn, unless the purpose is to reverse engineer the stuff.
