Note: I haven't looked at the capx which I will do now.

• Thoughts in chronological order:

First 5 minutes:

-Cool, a puzzle game.

-Aww what it doesn't fit my screen... WHAT it doesn't in full-screen either!? Ugh.

-DAAANG dat wall jump is sick! How did he do that?!

-I don't like how I keep teleporting to places and feeling like I've missed something further on (eg that yellow ball which I swear to god had things after it??)

-Wait what did that exclamation mark do..?

-Why is this owl still here, not doing anything? Am I being followed? Is he a boss fight..he's not talking.. have I broken it??

-No I don't even wall jump.. DAFUQ DO I DO THIS?!

-I give up.

Well those were my thoughts as it came. I enjoyed what there was of wall jumping and sprint jumping.. you'll have to let me in on those mechanics(They could just be simple.. I've never looked it up )

But still, I liked it... and I don't puzzle/platformery games (except portal being my only enjoyable puzzle game.)

• At the end of layout (say your game ends on a "GAMEOVER" type layout... or use your own way" >>> add wallclocktime to LocalStorageThingy.PlayTime

Then display it in your HUD etc.

• I do this all the time:

I have the one all my layouts use "EVENT_Game"

and inside is included things like "EVENT_ZombieBlue," "EVENT_HUD."

Just be sure to not have conflicting event sheets if you do use that method... but if you do, you can always add the condition "Is in layout "One appropriate to using those Event Sheets."

• Didn't quite get what you were saying but get this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ideateca.cocoonjslauncher&hl=en_GB which is a must have.

CocoonJS allows for native-esque design.

Try that and come back to me if that doesn't work.

• retrodude I'm a couple months off being 16.. but then I'm not your average younger teenager.. you'd probably think I was about 20-23 (from what most people say when meeting me in the first 5 minutes)

• I think I would feel uncomfortable being with people I don't know and are also over 20 years old if not older

• Patriick

If I recall he has experience with top-down shooters.

Here, try this. Let me know by tagging me in (@THENMYNAME)

• I know that Ashley has said that Construct is developed on Win 8 (correct me if I'm wrong.. this is something I read ages ago...) so that always nulls the "Oh cos of win 8" argument.

I doubt Scirra's business plan is "crash every so often to force people to buy our product" either! So likely not because of the free version.

My construct only crashes when I 'undo' about an hour's worth of work (because I realise it just doesn't work) and then it starts getting laggy and then just crashes.

Other than the above, it doesn't crash on me:

Using Dell Laptop with i3, built in intel 4000 graphics (so nothing special.)

By the way... are you using dropbox or weird folders as backups? I've had this thing before where if it is set to somewhere it doesn't exist it just goes mental..

Otherwise no idea, sorry :-)

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• All I can say is just stretch it.. BIG TIME. That's what I do, and it's the only way that has proved successful (because it's the only one I've tried and it works! [I use scale outer if that helps deciding on a future method.])

• cvp families! Of course! I've used them in almost everything else but this.. why I ask, it was a late night(as shown by my other topic as well!)

Thank you very much :-)
