  • Screenshots above. I'm working on a game, it will become quite versatile. Ability to exit vehicle and have to do things on the side. The 3rd screenshot is done with 3D graphics, with Blender. The rest is done with Aseprite.

How are the graphics? The backgrounds? Supposed to be a desert background. Wondering if it's better to implement 3D graphics, probably faster in the long run. Or to learn how to texture objects in Aseprite, making them look organic, metallic, or whatever.

Some pixel games it's hard to tell with objects whether they are organic or mechanical.

  • It would probably be easier if I were to add pictures.

    A demo anyways.

All the same game, get to fly around in a ship too, and go to other planets.

It's been made a while ago but not brought out yet, I'll have to recreate it because my files were not saved. I'll make an improved version of it.

  • Title: Star CAO, a space invaders like game, + I added a lot of cool stuff:

I am working on a Space Invaders like type of game:

As well as different colors, they are different classes and textures:

The bottom row are biological aliens, like the H.R. Giger type.

The middle row is robotic, just like Transformers.

The top row is like the Tron vehicles.

I replaced yellow with purple, because I don't want them to look like bumble bees.

I have this feature where the player can exit the vehicle and move around. There's also things I can add to the level like:

    Towers that shoot upwards

Bombs that can be dragged and dropped onto a cluster of enemies

Mines that can be set in place and goes off when tripped on

    Shields that protect the player

Falling cash from the killed enemies

A shop to buy these items, and upgrade the vehicle

The vehicle can also jump and crush the enemies, with the right upgrade

A map overview for multiple levels

Glowing laser bricks, the blocks between the player and the aliens

If the invaders can reach the ground, we don't lose. The player can still whack them with a bat or shoot them.

How does this sound? What could it use? And what could it do without?

  • Is it similar to the Unreal Game Engine where I use blueprints instead of codes for making 3D games?

The Unreal Game Engine is just like using Construct 2, only I could make 3D games with blueprints. It's really not much more difficult. 3D games generally just take a bit longer. The other game engines mostly require learning a computer language. Construct & Unreal are the 2 game engines I was able to use.

If so, are there Construct 3D tutorials on how to make virtual reality games?

  • How do I make it so that Construct 2 doesn't exit automatically?

Every few seconds or so Construct 2 exits automatically. It shouldn't exit unless I go up to "File, Exit". Otherwise I'll lose a lot of my progress.

Does Construct 2 have an "Auto-exit" feature that I have to somehow turn off? If so, how do I turn off "Auto-Exit"?

  • I have enemies in game.

Variable: WalkDr = left, it goes left

WalkDr = right, it goes right

    Collision against object (reverse direction)

-if walkdr = left, set walkdr to right

-else = set walkdr to left

It works just perfectly. But when I change the size of the enemy, he goes right through the object and the command doesn't work properly.

Why does this happen when I change the size of the enemy?

This is exactly what I am doing.

  • When I see 3, I think of 3D. This would be great, a simple version of making 3D games without codes, very user friendly just like Construct 2D.

I'd like to get construct 3D when it comes out.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Will construct 2 be available for Mac?

  • Just make a game, a new one for now.

It's best to keep this one a secret, my project, or anyone else project. It's a good idea for us all to keep our projects a secret. Otherwise everyone else will have the same idea and copy it. Then making that game would be obsolete. Unless I can still make it different than others somehow.

But on second thought, it would be fun to collect many people's versions of "asteroids", or "super Mario" or whatever. It would be quite fun to collect (buy) many people's version of the same game. Rather than waiting for the next episode (or part 2 of the game)

They can add some humor into it.

Many people are making spoofs of Star Wars, and it's still funny and entertaining. So many different versions.

-There are also parodies of popular games people enjoy playing.

Maybe I should just make a parody of a game people enjoy playing.

  • I was wanting to make a game that already exists, but improve the graphics and add stuff to it. But it looks like a lot of people have already done that. And they've done a fine job of it too.

  • I just don't have a URL, the cloud service just is not working for me.

Is there a place where I can upload and sell games?

And if I wanted to make a space shooter game, or a platform game, how many levels would I need to make in order to sell it for around $5 or $10?

  • For every tile, how many pixels?

If I wanted to sell a tile set for $10, how many tiles should I make?

How big the sheets? How many pages?

What is a main splash image?

Under the "Manage Images" section: The required images: Grid Long (480 by 160), medium grid (480 by 320), and small grid (240 by 160), are they for the actual images?
