    WORK-IN-PROGRESS

This is the prototype tech demo of a 2-D action/adventure game I have been working on. It will blend heavy storytelling with classic exploratory platforming (like Metroid or Symphony of the Night) and point-and-click adventure games (Monkey Island or Grim Fandago).

    TRY IT HERE!

The story follows a cynical freelance adventurer named Rad Spencer and his goofy sidekick Goo as they unravel the mystery behind the myth of the Wish-Granter.

The most unique gameplay feature will be Goo. His body can morph into multiple shapes. He can morph into a hammer to attack enemies and hit switches, a parachute to let Rad fall slowly, a block to weigh down objects, and more!

As it stands, the tech demo only has one short area to explore, the dialog system is missing, and Goo can only turn into a hammer. I'm already at the max 100 events for the free edition, but once I get my hands on a full version, it won't take long to add the rest.

Also, the kickstarter page for donations hasn't gone live yet, so the link will only take you to the temporary one.

Give it a go and let me know what you think.

  • I dunno if it's the artist in me, Soulsliver, but great art makes a great game. And so far, I wanna play your game super bad and I don't even know what the game is!

  • It works well. The controls are a little loose, but plays well.

I will admit, it's a bit hard difficulty wise. And difficult to tell which pits lead to other area or death. But it runs pretty well so far!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Robin..... your style makes me wanna die and be reincarnated as someone as good as you!

  • It looks like you uploaded the .capx file, not the actual game. We can get an idea of what the game will be like as a .capx, but you'll need to export it in Construct2 and upload the completed game before we can get a good idea if it works.

  • Here are some screenshots with bosses from Ivan Fu?koff. Game is almost done. Beta is coming soon.

Now I wanna get my hands all over this one.

Don't worry, I washed 'em first.

  • It looks really unique, SergeyD! What's the game called?

they are really good.. did you base the character from someone?

Thanks! They're actually based off a couple characters from a web comic I used to do.

  • RandomFellow - very cool. Getting a Boy and his Blob vibe from it.

You wouldn't be too far off there.

have you done all the graphics yourself?

Oh yeah. Some of the assets are just temporary though.

  • I'm probably gonna regret posting some screenshots of my work following great ones like Fervir's SpookQuest, but here it goes...

Here are some shots of a snowy mountain area from a retro-style action-adventure game I'm working on, Super Awesome!

  • Perhaps,l will make it a Zombie survival instead!

Or maybe make a co-op version, where you can't hurt the other player with your bullets and less intelligent enemies spawn on both sides of the arena. You could encourage teamwork by giving both players a shared health bar, but their own score. So each player can shoot enemies on their side and the other player's side.

  • Beaverlicious

I love the idea! It's a really simple design, but has tons of possibilities. Are you thinking about making a single-player version?

  • Very simple, but creative design!

Not to mention, it's adorable as all heck.

    I approve!

It might be interesting to create a physic effect to the eggs when you're hit by an enemy so they go flying away from the player in random directions. It could add a level of randomness to the game so even simple levels can get frantic.
