    So, Babylon will had finally a 2D sprite placement in the C2 canvas like Q3D ? or i'm missing something ?

  • There is no way to draw 3D objects parsed in a JS file on the C2 canvas, there will be a Babylon3D: Editor Edition in which you will be able to make you're scenes entirely using C2 editor.

    The worst thing is the requisite of external 3D editors to create the scene.

    What do you prefer, making a 3D scene in a 3D environment , or imagining the scene in a 2D environment ?

    Now isn't it easy to make a scene in a 3D editor and see exactly how it's going to look in your game ?

    The lack of tutorials/video-tutorials to learn how use the plugin properly.

    Suggestions

    1.-Templates dedicated to every aspect of the scene(light, camera, meshes...) with real time sliders to know exactly how works, and not change&run, change&run... to know what and how works each property.

    2.-Tutorials that how to set-up an entire scene with different lights, shadows, skycubes,etc....

    3.-3D basic game tutorial/template made entirely in C2 without need of external 3D editors, a pong or arkanoid will be enough.

    4.-Be capable of create scenes fully textured without any external editor.

    5. Add the FPS demo you did to the plugin pls

    3. That can be done, but its harder than making the scene in a 3D editor.

    4- If you wanna make serious 3D games, you gonna have to use one of the 3D editors. 3D games are not meant to be made in a 2D envorinnement.

    5. Gonna have to improve that FPS demo, then I'll link its capx and .max scene with the plugin update.

  • I was looking some way to do 3D game o Pseudo3D, my idea is make some Doom/Wolfenstein3D.

    I tried various plugins/effects and none worked as expected, also i bought Q3D but seems very hard to use and understand and there are no much tutorials for beginners and i'm very lost, also seems the developers stopped the development <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad"> .

    So, i found your plugin but there is no demos to see what the plugin can do on real games(Only a human mesh and a car one). Will be great if you upload to test online the 4 demos of the templates you have. Also a Youtube video series showing how the plugin works will be nice. I saw you have a tutorials series in your website but only works the first one, i guess you're working on it <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz">.

    You said you're not good as a modeler, but for a Doom/Wolf3d template you only need cubes with textures. Here you can find all the necesary sprites of wall, enemies, effects, guns,etc... to build a demo/template:

    By 1 year of free support, I mean that I can help you if you're stuck when making a 3D game using my plugin, and also add functions to the plugin per request.

    I took a look at the construct3 website, and then I noticed something, the pictures match the coloring format that Microsoft uses for Visual Studio 2013 and above: BLUE - PURPLE - WHITE :

    So my guess would be that Construct 3 will be based on Typescript, and here are the reasons why:

    • Typescript was developed by Microsoft, which means that their Visual Studio IDE is meant to developp Typescript apps, and since Typescript is an Object Oriented language, we can include header files and such things like SDK's for autocompletion features. Scirra promised an SDK for plugin developpement, which means that we will be able to make plugins using Visual Studio with auto-completion features (Clue #1)
    • Typescript is a superset of Javascript, this means that any Javascript code is a Typescript code but not the other way around, this proves the fact that C3 will be backward compatible with C2 (Clue #2).

    • Now you can create scenes from scratch using in C2 without the need of a 3D editor.
    • Shadows are a behavior for easy configuration
    • You can now import .obj or animated .js models

    The flowshart event system is just bad, trying to figure out what an event leads to by following those noodles like arrows gotta be a headache.
