  • Hey all, long time member. Infrequent user at the moment.

I'm sure I used to have a lifetime Pro Account. But after logging in after being MIA for a while I just can't seem to set it up again.

Has C2 or C3 ever had a one time purchase or similar? I created my account over 11 years ago.

  • Thanks mate. I didn't mean in the sense of they do everything. By help just putting out there for advice, ideas and so on. Miracles are nice lol. But yes working learning as much as I can now.

  • Back in I think 2009 I started dabling with drag and drop game engines.

I made some tiny games that I never launched. I got caught in perfectionism and my "dream game"

Then I went through some heavy depression after things that happened in my personal life.

I found potential investors in my dream game but due to poo life experience I messed that all up.

Started looking at it again, but then my Mum and Dog died in the same month last year. Half the reason I wanted to make a succesful game was to set her up and give everything she wanted.

Now I'm kind of floating along wondering what the point of life is and now it's got me thinking that after many failed dreams I could at least accomplish one.

    I'm looking into learning Java.

I've always wanted to make a JRPG Like Pokemon.

If you look up facebook.com/FabledApps you can see the game I tried to make had a lot of love and support. Even though it was all talk and concepts.

I'm here for welcomed advice, suggestions and anyone who thinks they could help make the game happen. I'm 34 now. My body is pretty banged up and I would really like to achieve one of my big dreams while I'm still on this planet.

I tried to crazy save and get into investments over the past 2 years to have financial backing but everything with Crypto and now the global issues I've basically lost 90% of my capital. I gotta do something.

Didn't there use to be a lifetime plan?

I could have sworn I got one in approx 2019/2020. Or even before then.

I only just started looking at Construct again now many years later.

  • Hey! I would like to make a game that has a similar battle engine to this one:

    youtube.com/watch

Let's pretend I have no idea what I'm doing.

If someone could hit me up with Tutorials to replicate:

    1. Movement.

    2. Attacks.

    3. Health + Damage + Stat bars.

    4. Animations; movement, attack, projectiles.

    5. U.I

^ All for player + foes.

    Bonus:

    6. Some kind beam vs beam function. (Think Dragonball Z Kameha vs Kameha)

And obviously things I might be not considering like being hit, flinching etc etc.

Is a game this intense possible on C2/3? Can it be even MORE intense?

If someone could give me a list of tutorials that would specifically cover these things that would be awesome.

  • Hey everyone!

I am in desperate need of some help. This help doesn't have to come for free as I'm about to ask a lot. Please only comment if you have helpful/positive things to say.

I started making games about 10 years ago (I've stopped on and off quite a lot).

I worked on many, but never completed or published them. I had way high standards and my creative skills kept hitting road blocks. I constantly got frustrated. I use to use Game Salad. Anyway - As I was making games and was really dedicated to a passion project, I suffered a serious injury and lost my job after taking out a loan. Then had some bad family problems and everything went down the drain.

That was almost 5 years ago.

Now it just eats at me that I never released a good game. My game company/page had 10,000 likes on fb. People loved the visions I had. The fan support was unreal. I just kept letting roadblocks get in my way.

Now, I know I have to push through these road blocks.

After failing at so much, I really just want to accomplish ONE of my childhood dreams and that's to be apart of a great video game. A vision brought to life. I still have a lot on my plate, but I need a passion project.

I am looking for someone who's super skilled and would like to be apart of helping me get a small worthy game completed from scratch.

I am willing to pay what's reasonable.

What I can offer is that I'm not money hungry. Having a game company to make a living would be so rad.

But part of the reason we never published a game even though the fan support was unreal, was I didn't want to release something I felt was sub par.

I am fantastic with Advertising. I can promote the crap out of anything. I have a gaming page on fb (that is dormant at the moment) with over 70,000 likes. My personal reach on social media ads up to about 10-20,000. While I also own some other social media pages with as much as 20,000 likes. So promoting a game is something I would actually do well.

The first game I would like to work on, isn't super-complex for anyone who know's what they are doing.

I'm thinking a top-down game (Dragonball Z inspired) with on coming enemies, power-ups, transformations etc etc etc. But obviously with it's own originality. Simple survive as long as you can to begin with and update with more features/story etc after publishing as the games fan base grows.

I can get graphics covered. Easy. I've got a friend who's all in and doesn't want a cent unless the game is a success. He's passionate too. (3D or 2D. Neither is a problem.)

I will also cover all the sound effects and music.

What I need is a passionate person who believes in what I hope to achieve to help me put all of these puzzle pieces together so I have one less regret in life.

I'm not asking for handouts. Whatever the right person thinks is fair. Let's discuss.

Please. If you have any tips or suggestions or know anyone who would like to help me craft and publish a game, please let me know.

And to finish. I want to say that I have so much respect for all of you who create games. It's a beautiful craft that takes so much time and focuss.

  • Here's an outlay of what I'm going to try and create.

If people can link me to sources and offer tips to help this process go smoothly I'd very much appreciate it.

    1. Mobile App

    - Android

    - iPhone

    - How to set up phone controls?

    - Is it hard to test? (I have an Android Samsung S8 and friends with iPhones)

What should I consider to get this to work?

    Considering iAP and maybe ads.

    2. Game type platformer.

    - Large levels if possible.

    - Custom Character Appearance.

    - Are changeable body parts possible, joints?

    - Pet spawning.

    - Character Dialogue

    - In game currency to buy in game store upgrades etc.

    - Stats history (enemies killed, times died, longest time without dying etc)

    - EXP gain and level up impacting overall stats.

    3. Animations

    - walk

    - run

    - idle

    - injured idle

    - Jump

    - Double Jump

    - Attack

    - Power Attack

    - Celebrate win

I'm also considering a twist: sometimes battles go from standard Platformer battle mechanics and switch to a Turnbased battle scene.

Story may come later if the game goes well.

If anyone can offer any help or suggestions I'd very much appreciate it.

So far I've been playing with Platformer tutorials and I've got basic movement, camera and animation down. Struggling to get a double jump Animation working, but have run, idle and jump all sorted and it's surprisingly smooth.

I'm going to keep updating this as I go. Need to make this dream a reality. :D

  • Thanks heaps!! It's all so smooth now. :)

  • I'm following this platformer Tutorial.

    youtube.com/watch

    I get to this point:

And the character won't jump any higher than this.

But before that point it's fine. I initially went a little further with the tutorial, but is had animation issues and wouldn't jump at all.

It also gets stuck in this above animation after failing to jump, but then after that it will jump, but remains in the jumping Animation.

Could it have anything to do with the size of my animation images and polygon collisions?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • For some reason when I do a Tilemap image, (it shows in the paint tool section prior) but wont appear in the game creation suite as you can see in the screen shot.

Is this a bug or am I missing something super obvious?

I've checked out a few tutorials on how to make a platformer and none of them seem to have this issue.

    Help!

    - Also, is there a way to resize the source image for tiles in Construct or do I HAVE to change them outside of construct before importing?

    Thank you in advance!
