  • lucid@ as long you know what you doing I got all the time to wait and Im looking forward for the awesome updates :D

  • Hey lucid

I'm sure you're aware of this, but this is rather concerning...Esoteric Software's product 'spine' seems to be a shameless clone of Spriter. I've been seeing well-known developers tweeting about it! What's the deal there? I'm worried people will start seeing your software as the clone...

As far I know, Spriter is made as animation program that is accessable for indie developers that wanna do game animations and don't have hundrets of dollars to buy softwares like Toon boom Harmony... and not to be most original.

can it really be considered as a clone for having features that already exist in other softwares? Despite the pricing, ppl seem to praise Spine over Spriter but then again, I guess they got more ppl to work on it. I still like Spriter better because it has plugin for C2 which has potentional for many objects in the game but I admit that id preffer more easy work with the timeline editing for advanced animations.

  • hello, I had a though that id like to mention and possibly request.

Sofar the effects seem to be layer based but I was wondering if a feature could be included that would let me pick specific sprites to be effected only? It would be great for masking and object shading effects without effecting further sprites that are in lower layers for example

  • Well, I am more a artist than a coder.

Basic codes are fine but if a software like GM takes me forever to understand just its basic tutorials then GM looses my interests no matter how great this software can be.

C2 from other hand is fine.

I really like that it can produce same result with more than just one way so I can choose those that I understand.

Also GM seems to have a ridiculous license that restricts creativity in my opinion so I'm not really willing to spend neither money nor time on it.

If you are a coder and willing to spend huge amount of cash to learn for months a tool to create basic games then GM is worth a try.

I stick with C2 which keeps getting better and better and is damn worth the business license :)

I would use other game engines to make 3D but they simply don't have this user friendly event sheet programing and I suck at learning how to code in those. But one thing that could be interesting for construct to do is generate the actual code sheet of the event sheet to just view how it actually looks for educational reasons. Perhaps that could help none coders learn some basics about coding that can be then used in code necessary engines like the 3D ones?

Personaly id preffer online multiplayer feature before going for something like 3D but if this ever gets on kickstarter and has paypal funds available then ill save up lots of cash for this :D

  • damn, I wouldn't have thought about that.... Thanks :D

  • I once did wanted to make a animal survival game and have tried to make the terrain spawn randomly. But it turned out that too many objects in one huge layout can cause a problem in the frame rate. If you can turn the world into more than one layout so everything doesn't happen in one layout then you got good chances to a great game in my opinion.

  • I was wondering, since it tells that I have one item (the business license)in my account, shouldn't there be a option to download the purchased item at any time so I don't have to make any third party backup (email) to download it when ill need it?

Ill never know when I migh loose the license file so it would be nice to have it available to download in my account :P

  • I was wondering.

Does this action really have to also set the angle of the object itself?

I liked how it was before where it only moved to a specific angle without rotating the object.

We already have the angle section to manage the angle of the object.

Or cant we get a bullet action that also does the angle motion without rotating the object?

I had to recently work around it by adding additional invisible sprite just to keep the main objects angle in place and I would like to keep things small as possible with leess sprites in the game.

Being able to use 3D space even with 2D objects would be a great start for me. Otherwise I doupt id use 3D objects much... But still, I wish there will be a 3D enhancement for this engine, id be willing to pay for that asloong the license remains permanent :D 3D with this game making system would explode in the industries in my opinion because there are many who wish to make games but just cant handle programing (like me D: )

  • Try Construct 3

  • how about making a temporally license that acts like full license but has a deadline till the end of the contest? That could also attract interest for ppl to check out the contest and try out limited features. This all offcorse depends on if Ashley can do it.

I could imagine that this type of license allows exporting only files for the contest or has a logo on the game.

Also for the voting part where its:

    Voting method :

    -Participants judge the submitted game

    -Judges judge the submitted game

I would be for judges but be aware of many unpleasing responds of those who wont like the result
