  • I was finally able to upload the right version: Arcade

    It's basically the version on the chrome webstore minus leaderboard and fullscreen. Try the harder difficulties levels!

  • All tests carried out on iPhone4 /w ios5. And actRact (mobile version I'm doing). It would help to play the game to understand better:

    All tests carried after playing for 60seconds at level 4(all shapes spawns). The lightning effect is always activated (to increase object count). Tested on local preview.

    Sprites Rotation:

    Planet fixed.

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 25/26

    Objects on screen max: 15 -> fps: 22/23

    Planet rotates.

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 24/26

    Objects on screen max: 15 -> fps: 21/23

    Planet rotates. Shapes rotates.

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 23/24

    Objects on screen max: 15 -> fps: 21/23

    Result. Rotating sprites affects fps slightly.

    Particles

    No Rotations:

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 15

    Objects on screen max: 15 -> fps: 12

    Rotations:

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 13

    Objects on screen max: 15 -> fps: 11

    Particles have a huge impact.

    Many objects

    No Rotations:

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 22/24

    Objects on screen max: 50 -> fps: 13/14

    Rotations:

    Objects on screen min: 10 -> fps: 22/25

    Objects on screen max: 50 -> fps: 11/13

    Many objects equals less fps (duh).

  • Hi GenkiGenga, thanks for the advice, I thought nobody cared about my game :-(

    I agree with the background, but as it is the game is at the limit of the 10mb for the chrome store and I feared that pushing too much would end in poor fps. At the beginning I did a strange backgroun moving thing, but then I realized it distraced people playing it so I decided to go for a minimal theme.

    I'm now deciding what to do, I want to make a desktop version to sell on desura/steam because I think the idea is cool, an exe version would allow me to go heavy on special effects..

    It took me: 15 days (couple of hours a day) to make the first draft (concept) which was very different than it is today as it used physics. Then when I saw the contest I started working heavily on it for 2 weeks, the last of which almost 10 hours a day (I work as a freelance and I had enough time). What really took time was the polishing phase (buttons effects, graphics, sounds) to get the "feeling" I wanted.

  • Hi, I'm using 0.4 version on my game (try it on my signature) and sometimes score doesn't get submitted and leaderboards do not get loaded, firebug shows several failed post and get requests to the playomic url.

    Is this a know bug? Is there any way to check if the request has been succesfull?

  • I can't make fb integration work, I think it's a problem of localhost vs website, but the fb graph actually allows request of login from localhost so there is something I don't completely understand here..

  • Games in the profile (I have them too) doeasn't appear in the queue, they look like they are in a sort of limbo.. If tom can do something I would also love a remove duplicates+add.

  • I would make it full screen scale mode.

    It's an amazing game beautiful art style people need to enjoy it fullscreen!

  • I kinda like the game but I don't understand the choice of colors, it's very hard to see clearly and it strains your eyes.. Other than that the fact that you can have user created content is amazing!

  • I'm also a bit curious, for Visual Studio, will it only use IE? Or can it use other browsers like Firefox or Chrome? I wonder if another programming software can do the same thing but not limited to IE.

    You can with visual studio, you just have to import a webkit/gecko implementation (usually a dll).
