  • This happens in browsers when you don't run in 100% zoom.

  • It all depends on how you define *big* 2d games. There is a limit by how Construct2 has a big upfront load on all assets in the game. So you just have to design your games around this issue, which I find makes you come up with much better solutions.

  • The most established term would be "cutout animation" but that is a poor word to describe the animation you can do in Spriter.

Another program that does the same thing but for Flash is Toonboom Animate

    Tween Animation sounds better.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Yeah I'm sure that might fix the problem, I'm just thinking that it's not unreasonable for players to have semi-old graphics drivers (~3-6 months old).

  • I've noticed the same problem when upgraded to the latest unstable version of Construct as well. Semi-old graphic drivers too.

  • The only fix I've found so far is to rename the index.html every time

  • First Construct 2 game I've played that actually kept me playing to the end. Amazing game design. Congrats.

  • Well there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind..

There are several portals out there that will host your game and pay you back a small percentage in ad-revenue.

We already have Scirra Arcade if we want to upload our games for free.

  • Is there a way to cluster objects together and treat a cluster of object as one?

Say you have made 5 different layouts of objects for an auto-generated dungeon.

Then you auto-generated a random grid with those 5 different layouts.

What would be the best way to approach this? Make every object on a layout anchor to certain point? How can I spawn multiple version of these clusters then?

    Thanks :)

  • These guys at valve, they really know how to do stuff correctly.

  • Well valid points but only a fraction of the players will ever experience these relative small nuisances. How about, you just make great games and by the time you have a smash hit and a reputation, these issues are ironed out?:)

  • > I've searched around a bit but haven't been able to find an expression to set height or width to a percentage of their original. Any takers?

I believe the only way it's to use a math formula.

Dividing by 100 will give you 1% of the original value, multiplying that value by say 50, will give you 50% of the original value.
