Well mazes in pac-man type games don't curve either.

That's exactly the issue I was back and forth about.

  • Everyone's projects look really good.

QuaZi: I love these kind of games. I'm looking forward to it.

deadeye: I really like the hi res version. I also love the idea of working both into the game. But if you can't make it fit the plot maybe you could just give all the sprites two sets of animations and let the user select which set he wants to use at runtime. I know that would be kind of a pain, but if you've already got the pixel art complete then maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

Trevor: These look really good. And it's a very nice concept, something you don't see everyday.

team: Always good to get a snapshot of how the project is coming along.

  • Try Construct 3

  • It seems like a lot of people have confusion about things like this (including myself). I'm wondering if this bug fix is going to make it a lot more intuitive to work with sprites/containers that have multiple instances.

  • Don't worry, it could be worse. I have been trying to register on some unrelated forum. So I went and registered, clicked the activation link in the email and tried to post. Then I got this email saying that my post was still pending. So I click through the links and it looks like I'm awaiting moderator approval. Then I check back and it looks like I didn't subscribe to the board I posted to. So I subscribe to the board and later get another email telling me that my post is pending. So I click through again ... no new information. So I try reposting and it informs me that I've already posted. To make matters worse there are like 2 dozen boards and the entire website looks like it was hand coded in notepad.

    But I digress.

  • Yes, it was an easy fix. There was an action that set the angle of motion (of the ball behavior) to 270. For some reason this action had no effect. As you said setting the angle of the ball sprite to 270 had the desired effect.

Here is the fixed .cap file.

  • Need that last parenthesis.

  • Hmm ... I just tried re-downloading the Bustaball demo from the Wiki. For some reason the ball starts out traveling at angle 0 instead of 270. So basically the ball just bounces back and forth from left to right and you can never touch it. Does this happen for other people? I know I've played it before and it used to work.

Okay, I just found the file that I downloaded the first time and it does the same thing. The ball just bounces back and forth.

  • I'm thinking of creating a Pacman game. I was going to use a street sweeper theme and have him sweep up trash off the road instead of running over those silly dots. So anyway, here's what I came up with for a roadway. Is there a better way to handle the yellow and white lines in the corners?

  • because real programmer preferto bang their head on hard C++ than construct ? jk

Hehe, probably true. Just tell them to join the dev team.

  • alternatively, each 16x16 bmp file in the Families directory in Construct represents a family, so you could always paste in a batch there.

Nice! I love it when can go straight to the directory structure and make useful changes. Like when games write the save file in some readable format and you can just go through and manually pump up your gold, etc. (Only in this case it might have actually been on purpose.)

  • I've heard good things about Construct Mohave. When will that be released?

  • I meant to ask if there was any chance that the admins would change the search box that appears in the upper right of the forum web page to be a Google powered search like the one you linked to.

edit: does that make sense or does it sound like I'm saying the same thing over again?
