  • I hope it gets added to construct because it will open up another genre of game that i don't think you can currently do at the moment.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Device name: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT (laptop)

    Pixel shader: 3

    Estimated VRAM: 1774 MB

    Motion blur: Yes

  • Care to post a simple example please?

I think a big problem is the collision detection of it. It can't move inbeteen 2 squares, it seems to need double the size, or it tries to go around.

Theres also the turning radious values which is a problem, as well as having to have an accel and decel speeds, i think that messes up the stopping point.

  • Can we please have a dedicated turn based pathfinding solution.

I'd like to make games like Battle for Wesnoth - http://www.wesnoth.org/, or Advance Wars, which just doesnt seem possible with RTS pathfinding.

The pathfinding needs to be contained to a grid or squares with modifiers etc. It's a different setup and requirments than RTS.

    Thanks.

  • is it possible yet to do grid based pathfinding movements, or do we have to do the workaround jewsen describes?

  • aww, they've all been deleted.

  • Funnily enough both these questions have already been asked, by me! Do a search.

Pathfinding: Apparently Ashley is going to add the ability to get info on the cell squares used by the pathfinding engine, so it should make grid movements possible.

Softbody physics: Requires polygons and being able to manipulate vertex points at runtime. This may happen, but only in the future after version 1 is released.

  • Maybe post a another thread at the top and make it a sticky with the title telling people to use Mediafire or something for their large files.

I like mediafire, it easy to use, you don;t have to sign up, no popups and it gives you the url to paste afterwrds.

  • Wow that's really good. Too bad it's not the official construct front page.

  • Could you not use "for each" condition?

If you need to pick a specific object out of duplicates then you could use fast loops.

Give each duplicate a unique number, then use this number in conjunction with a fastloop to pick the object, eg.

Always > spread value 0 in private variables

Always > start loop "my loop"(get number of objects to loop for)

    onloop "my loop"

+private variable = (which ever object you want to select) > do stuff

or to control them all with fastloops,

    onloop "my loop"

+private variable = loop index "my loop" > do stuff

  • What about people who don't have english as their first language?

Also just because you don't understand technology doesnt mean you're dumb. They might not know what directX is or a dll.

  • I like CaptainOblivious's message the best.
