  • Did! Not bothered about the game, just want the license! It's excitin' init!

  • Very very clever.

  • vandinz xyboox : I defended my computer science PhD last week, so I'm slowly catching up my work <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />.

Anyway, I'm planning to give that plugin that update in the next weeks or so, but other plugins also needs updates, so I'll try to do it soon.

    BRILLIANT! Love you already :D

  • Another way is to give the platforms the SINE behaviour. Takes a little bit of trial and error to set the magnitude but I can usually get it within a couple of minutes. Looks a little nicer imo due to the easing in and out.

    Just another alternative :)

    Platforms

This is also a good reason to point you to my request for a path plugin. That would be perfect for setting up moving platforms. Put your marker down here ;)

    PATH request.

  • Surprisingly no! I put a small warp effect on it and it gave that 2 layer effect, <strike>purely by accident</strike> totally on purpose :)

  • Here's a Shoot 'em up I'm working on atm. Nowhere near finished (in fact only started it the other day). Missing some effects due the free version limitation and I'm yet to set all the alien patterns for the first level.

I've developed it so that I can just switch on or off certain attack patterns based on time, which is a lifesaver when creating waves. The health bar works but doesn't as you can't die yet (got fed up of dieing while testing :P ) and the big lazer is way to powerful, would kill you in a second.

The shot speed changed after a few seconds because I was trying different speeds and set it to a timer rather than waiting for a certain event.

I've ran out of events in the free version so this is another game I'm putting on the back burner until I get a license. Anyhoo, tell me what you think.

EDIT - I uploaded the wrong version :P

  • No idea what I was doing, I made the old lady mad because I picked up a melon! Stunning art work and great gameplay, make an English version please, you could make good money with this!

EDIT - Just read your post again, now I know why she was angry, Melons don't grow in the winter! See, we all learn something. Great game.

  • I use a tiled background object and set the width to match the player instance variable. Harder to explain than to show so I've made this commented CAPX. Hope it helps :)

    HEALTH BAR

Here it is running, move the mouse over the player to remove health, take it off for the health to regenerate. - HEALTH BAR DEMO

  • Yeah it's already in there ;)

  • I created a Whack-A-Mole clone called Bonk The Gonk You're welcome to download the CAPX and see if there's anything in there that might help. I've added some comments but not many, just the main things.

  • Great work! Could do with speeding up Mario, feels like he's running and jumping in water. That's the only gripe and I'm being picky there. Top notch.

  • I don't see an elegant way of doing this via plugins, since it appears we can't get access to the interface during edit time (to make you able to draw a path).

I don't know about that, I don't know how writing a plugin works. The plugin I mentioned in the OP used an object to set as a node which worked fine. This would mean a lot of hidden objects on the screen for complex paths admittedly but anything is better than nothing. Ultimately, an official addon would be the ideal way but I know the lads are busy with other things so ...

  • Yes this is the only feature I feel we're missing from MMF2 and The Games Factory. I'd love to see a road map for features like this (Although I know the creators are working their asses off, so I won't beg lol).

This was the only feature of MMF2 that I liked over C2, one of the reasons I've asked now since I recently dirtied myself by trying the MMF2 demo.

  • Would be cool.
