What is the Local Multiplayer Jam?

The Local Multiplayer Jam is a international game jam in which you have to create a game that supports local multiplayer for two or more players. This means that you should be able to play with friends on one computer or device.

    When will it start/end?

You can start working on your entry on August 1 00:00 (UTC+2:00). You have to submit your game before August 8 00:00 (UTC+2:00).

  • There are some really interesting games in this thread, I'll definitely check them out! I participated in the compo and I made Dungeon Trap.

  • I'm definitely in!

  • Solid is a behavior.

Of course it is.. I feel stupid now.. Thanks for your help, guys!

  • Hey there,

I was wondering if it is possible to make a tile in a tilemap solid. The reason I need this, is that I am building a platformer using the tilemap features. This gives me an opportunity to easily implement a level editor in the future.

The problem is that I don't know how to specify a tile as a solid one. My platformer object is just falling through all the tiles now. There are probably some workarounds, like spawning a solid 32x32 object at each tile, but first I'd like to know if I'm just overlooking something?

    Thanks!

    Thijs

  • Sorry if it has been asked before: I don't have a lot of time to go through the forums right now. I was just wondering if it's possible to force/lock the orientation with a Crosswalk export?

    Thank you!

  • Anyone participated in the first multiplayer test? Can those people tell us about the test and the results? I hope I won't arrive too late in the next test!

  • This would be awesome indeed.

    Whoo! Can't wait!

  • You could give the coin a 'Wrap' behaviour to solve your issue. In that case, you only need to place the coin object inside the layout window and it will repeat to show up in the game.

Playstation 3 controller is working here. I always used the MotioninJoy tool you're using with no problems, and I recently switched to 'Better DS3 tool'. Did you select the Xbox360 controls in the tool?

  • Ashley just tweeted: "With Chrome 32 and Firefox 27, WebRTC DataChannels are now cross-browser interoperable. Multiplayer here we come!"

    We are getting close!

  • found a good read for those interested in multiplayer but need something to do while waiting for the update :)

I'm not familiar with WebRTC, but will this be alright for realtime multiplayer games like topdown-shooters? Or is it more better for turnbased games?

    Hello people,

I am one of the owners of a Dutch Game Development Community called RPGflag. I am proudly presenting a Construct 2 Contest, in which you have to create a game with the free version of Construct 2 in a month time. The winner gets a personal license of the software. For more information, please visit the contest page on RPGflag.nl

Although I am not sure how many Dutch people are on the Scirra forums, I hope I can reach some people with this topic. Huge thanks to Scirra for providing us a personal license to give away in this contest.

    Have a nice day,

    Thijs
