  • Steven, this is great, it totally removes the need for folders... I didn't think of that at all.

Sandcrawler, I think it will, if I understand well, this layer will stay on all layouts, I'll try out later today.

    Thanks a lot!

  • To prevent the behaviour, you do a Player> start ignoring user input,

for all the movements that you defined yourself, you put them in a group and do a system > disable group

Else, you could actually try to make your dialogues with timelines, it was easier for me : scirra.com/forum/timeline-example-for-game-dialogue_topic36147_page1.html

  • Thank you! I was retyping everything and it led me crazy

Edit: actually it seems that copy/paste works now...

  • I was actually expecting the global objects to be already in the new layout, like the folders.

Cloning the layout is interesting, thanks. I could prepare an empty layout with the objets I intend to keep in all levels and clone it in the beginning, or something like that.

Edit: I just realised that everything was better without objects being global... I guess I will just need variables to be so.

Anyway, thanks guys, it's nice to have people helping along when things get tricky!

  • it might be a good idea to look into grouping like graphics into single sprites, using the 'start frame' feature, to organise things a bit better.

Sorry, but I don't understand this part.

  • Actually I found it quite difficult also, too fast for me.

After the first few tries, I did not even look the tunnel view anymore... cause I see them too late to go in front.

Then I just shoot like crazy everywhere when looking at the top left view.

Maybe a progressive speed or a further vision field... or a warning for average players ^^

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hi all, I don't understand how to have my objects that are global into all layouts.

When I create a new layout, all my folders are duplicated in, but they are all empty. Then I try to take my objects from the Project window (on the right) to drag them in the new layout, it doesn't work.

So I copy all of them from the first layout, paste them in the new, then move them around cause they are still in position...

Is there amore efficient way I overlooked?

  • It's not so hard to get done, i live in Asia and we have tons of would be SNES, DS, playstations... for a fraction of the price and quality of their original, usually loaded with bloatwares and cheap versions of famous games.

So, manufacturing few thousand units of hardware is very possible, but getting it sold to a serious retailer is harder and gaining trust from a game making community without a publisher behind may be tricky.

    Unlikely, but possible.

  • You can find slopes in Deadeye's platform school 4, in the tutorial list... not sure if the file is accessible now, but it should be around.

  • Oooooh I see.

    Sorry about that.

  • So the final is both green and blue?

This is what I have when I log in:

  • To make pixels by yourself, you get Graphics Gale, Gimp, Photoshoo or ... Paint. I think there is a thread somewhere about free pixel sprites, you can use the search n the top right of the page, i need to go ^^

  • I am a bit reserved towards Gameloft, I feel that people with no much respect towards other's creations may not be the kind of people I want to mix with in the future...

  • Another question: when you are not so keen to go back to school (for either financial or commitment reasons), what are the other alternatives?

And...is the market tight? Lots of unemployed postgraduates in the field?

    (I'm on a horse.)

  • That would be one, I would also love to be able to Ctrl+G to get all the objects as one group to move them or reduce them altogether, and Shift+Ctrl+G to release the group!

(and be able to move objects to folders directly from the object window, and be able to drag and drop objects from one layout to another, and...)
