  • Buying generic domain names to overcharge them later on? Lame.

  • Thank you so much for the summaries Kyatric, going back to the forum after a long absence is much easier with these!

  • Nice, i like the bobbling in mid step of the astronaut, I will certainly "inspire" from this.

  • I actually was looking into this not long ago, how to make things interesting in caves... my main reference here was Cave Story, especially the puffy enemies that can hover for a while... they are passive, and get an aggressive behaviour when on range, hover then try to smash the player when above. The bats wait then dive toward the player when in range, then go slowly back to sleeping position if they miss.

I like the idea of idle enemies that will not be aggressive if you don't disturb them, with a different behaviour depending of situation (attack, flee, taunt, jump ledge, dive from ledge...), it gives a feeling that the caves are having a life/routine of their own, that you just disturbed, and will slowly get back to peace once you leave.

  • Wow. Kinda reminds me of lain, in a good way.

  • Hi all,

I just made the jump to construct2, and I 'm having fun with the new sprite editor, but it feels a bit tight.

Here are few things i would like to have:

    • resize "by hand" with handles
    • a manual cropping tool
    • make the mirror, flip, rotate and resize functions only apply to the selected area when i use the Rectangle select function
    • a "center of artboard" icon besides the X and Y coordinates to move the origin point directly there
    • layers would be great
    • then transparency
    • create a palette of colours and save it (to make them common to a whole layout/project)

    Christmas is coming soon, right?

  • Worse here, I have never seen any comma on my rep number!

  • I'm 29, working in a totally different field with a remote interest in making games since young. I'm happier with the design/planning/dreaming phase so programming being too much of a hurdle to train for, i was looking for a way around.

I found Construct about a year ago through Konkaj's blog, and still find it hardly accessible (did you see the lerp stuff? all these numbers?), so I am still in the approach phase, ripping out open all these innocent caps grazing the forum grass to understand how they work, with mitigated successes so far.

    (and i'm a TF2 player too ^^)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Great stuff, I also quite appreciate your articles about writing,I'll be following your blog closely!

  • This is just great, and the comments are worth reading as well!

(that said, I am now going to edit a thing or two in my story...)

  • The Bespectacled one just made my day ^^

I think I'll be developing the Celtic Ostrich Empire soon!

  • I think it's not a bad thing to give words away as concepts for people to grasp. Everybody will have a different vision of how it comes out, and it will benefit everyone, me included...

    italian plumbers

    fallen angels

    lucha libre

    heist

    flying city

    giant worms

    killing bees

    fishing rods

    magic beans

    rebel princess

    rogue sailor

    spaceship races

    ...

none of this will make a game, but you see the images already, don't you?

  • Get the Witcher.

The price should be lower by now, and if you like it (and you will), youcan get the witcher 2 that got out this year.

Mature story, good gameplay, and honest difficulty (not a one button/god mode Skyrim).

  • ...so we stop polluting Pyteo's one.

I adviced not to get a Wacom bamboo, because the new surface is eating the pen nibs as fast as using graphite pencil on it.

My first nib lasted 5 hours of normal usage. I have 4 nibs left in the pack... I tried using the nibs that I still have with my intuos3 (dead after a fatal crushing during a moving), thinking I changed my nib ONCE in 3 years with this one.

Same result, the nib was going very fast (slower than the black one provided with the bamboo, but maybe I was more careful).

I am in Malaysia, ordering nibs by packs of 5, with 5 nibs per week is not possible. So i checked on Wacom forums for solutions. Wacom is not giving any comment, and seems intuos 4 got the same problem until they change their surface mid year 2011. Not sure it solved the problem.

Anyway, I found good advices from users: tape or laminate the surface with a plastic sheet or create a paper holder... or if you like the eating-nib surface, create your own nibs with toothpicks !!

Well, I taped mine, looks DIY and cheap but so far I am using the same nib since two weeks.

  • That looks awesome!

I dun understand what are the chrome sliders for, but I want it already!
