  • I noticed that when I attempt to call fullscreen (crop mode) through the browser object in Chrome, it goes fullscreen, but I see ugly white borders around the game and the taskbar is still visible at the bottom of the screen. If the Chrome window is minimized beforehand, the game goes fullscreen as expected.

  • Considering Scirra seems to be aiming more towards Appmobi, it seems important that this feature be available within appmobi also.

  • Hey Scirra, I have a bit of a suggestion, which is important now that fullscreen gaming has been encouraged.

If I am trying to make my game work fullscreen, I can see that many of my graphics are now too small, and are blurry when scaled up to fill the screen.

If I want to replace my graphics with identical graphics of a larger size, all of the sprites within the layout will of course suddenly blow up to a huge size, and these have to be manually resized back down to what they were before.

An option to preserve the original size on the layout of newly high-resolution graphics would be very welcome indeed!

The only problem I can see with this is what would happen if someone tried to replace the graphic with an image of a different aspect ratio.

  • Sounds like fun! I'd probably enter if I had a few stray hours ;)

  • I think there might be a way with AJAX or some custom plugin...

I'd be very careful about doing this, however. Most people would not want to receive such emails!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Very impressive, Ashley ;)

  • Ashley, A little bit unrelated, but do any of the native wrappers manage to hide the small black bar with time, battery, etc?

This is a must for professional looking apps.

  • Ahh. Generating a report to a file?

Unless I am wrong, due to security restrictions in browsers, this is impossible, unfortunately.

If you want to save user's progress, look into the webstorage object.

  • But don't sprites try to keep track of lots of things? Or have you optimized them so that the performance is only marginally worse than primitives?

  • Could you be a bit more specific? Perhaps a more concrete example of what you want would be nice.

  • Give it the scroll-to behavior. Alternatively, use the system action scroll to position.

  • I think there is a plugin for exactly what you want. Look through them all.

  • Interesting thought... I would doubt it would be a problem considering its integration into popular culture, but you never know...

  • Yeah, but some of the things within 8-directional behavior I can't really seem to figure out, especially the collision with solids.

  • My game AirScape was planned quite... interestingly... I wouldn't exactly advise this method...

I wanted to do a platformer, then I thought it would be cool to have it gravity shifting.

Then I decided simple foresty theme would be the most effective for my meager art skills.

I decided robot enemies for the same reason.

I couldn't come up with a character for ages. I chose a dumbo octopus after ages of really random possibilities.
