  • Don't worry, Steve just went to notify God of copyright infringement in regard to the apple.

    LOL Brilliant!

Sorry to sound harsh, but the guy was not as big of a genius as he is being made out to be. Invented the "ipod"? No. Invented fancy ways to sell crappily supported (but well made) products to every single person alive? Yes.

This makes him a good salesman... not an inventor or a visionary.

Sorry Steveo, but you weren't as great as you'd hoped... but still made a big impact on the way things are today. Good luck, old chap.

  • Hi scidave, just though I would see how things are coming along. Glad to see you are still able to make progress on this.

Good luck with future releases... I am still looking forward to them as the plugin becomes more powerful and streamlined. Too bad to hear about this packet loss bug... could explain the latency issues I have been having with seemingly very simple things.

    Keep it up!

  • Looks interesting.

I wonder how good it really works... I reasd through some of the tutorials and such and it looks, I don't know... either too easy or too limited.

Not sure I even want to test it out, but I'm curious.

Has anyone else already played with this? What did you think of it?

  • Thanks very much.

    Stupid question again

Tutorials of construct 2 would work with construct classic?

    edit

    doesnt work classic

    d3dx9_39.dll missing.

It sounds like you need to install DirectX 9.

Keep in mind that any Windows version beyond XP does not already come packaged with DX9, and it must be downloaded separately. I already have DX10 you say? You still need DX 9 :)

When you install Construct, it should prompt you to install DirectX... you should say "yes" to this option if you previously skipped it, perhaps thinking it was not required.

    Hope this helps.

  • Simple. Interesting. Mildly entertaining. Very well presented. Complete.

You have achieved your initial goal, which is awesome.

I also love the rain drop effect on the "production/developer" screen... how did you do that?

  • Awesome Sauce.

Belongs in Tools and Resources for future reference.

Tried to move it, but mod powers still a little broken.

  • I think Flash better than HTML5, flash is faster, more powerful, more common, and supports 3D. But HTML are very slow and not powerful. And I think that the idea of ??HTML5 was a failure, flash is much better! And so we should not forget about Ekse, because it is the fastest exporter at the moment.

You also have to remember that HTML5 is still, currently... very new. Flash has been around for over 10 years, and has had that much time to improve. Simply stating that "Flash is better" is very narrow sighted in my opinion.

I always like to consider the future myself, even though I do agree that currently HTML5 is a bit of a let-down in comparison to other avenues. I am confident it will improve vastly as more time is spent with it by the professional industry.
