SoldjahBoy's Forum Posts

  • They come from, you guessed it, Yahoo and Google. They're archivers. They are the sole reason one day everybody who types "Oh, that crazy SoldjahBoy!" into Google is gonna come up with this page right at the top of their search results.

    O.o

  • Has anyone else noticed there are [Bot]'s logged into the forum from time to time? So far I have seen Yahoo [Bot] and Google [Bot]... where do they come from and what the heck is up with that?

  • I don't really need a fresh perspective since i've got everything figured out eccept these two specific questions. The green thing will just be moved by events, not controlled. The detectors are not collision detectors. This will be used in an AI to determine what do do in specific situations, that's why i need to be able to easily determine if a certain combination of the detectors are overlapping.

Could you work it using math instead? Comparing angle and distance of the "thing" compared to any "other thing" rather than using a grid system?

Your not wrong there, the amount of times i have had accounts frozen, funds on hold and never given back.

Trust me when i say i highly doubt you will see the funds again, when there on hold they actually take your funds and do stuff with them.

I guess I'm going to have to call them AGAIN... A friend of mine got the email saying "Your account has been locked and will remain this way. It cannot be appealed" or something like that... until I called them. I am a ruthless bastard with a stone fist... I made the girl on the other end of the phone cry, and my friends account got unlocked and he got his money back which they were holding (over $700 AUD). They are all tough and anti-you until you start rattling off various international laws and ways of screwing them if they don't comply with your simple request of returning the money that rightfully belongs to you in the first place. See? Now I'm all fired up and I'm going to call them and chew someones head off... and maybe thier arms too.

  • This is where some kind of grid object plugin would be really handy... question: Do the detector objects move with the "thing" or do they stay in the same position all the time?

Either way I guess it would still involve making X number of seperate "grid objects" and then, like you said, if you want to change something you have to change it X times.

  • Heh, you payed for usage rights? That's awesome. I am glad to hear, truly!

    Good luck on the project.

Well, even though I did, I didn't have to since the game is going to be free to download and free to play... Copyright laws here regarding creative content are fairly flexible in terms of reproduction as long as you change the content by at least 20% or (if unmodified) give it away for free as long as it is used in your own creative content. I think laws like this apply for a lot of things, including parodys of music and things like that... but yes I do have the right to use the pics even though I don't need it.

I payed for them because it was the only way I could get a hold of the exact kind of pictures I wanted.

  • So going back a few weeks now, about 3 or 4 weeks, I bought something from Ebay using PayPal to make the purchase. I didn't realise (by accident) that the seller didn't ship to Australia, so I contacted him immediately after payment and asked if he would either make an exception and I could pay extra, or if he would mind cancelling the purchase. He mututally agreed that cancelling was probably the easiest thing and so we did a mutual cancellation thing through Ebay.

PayPal then decided to hold the money from the purchase ($85 AUD) until things were cleared up with Ebay... well it's been cleared up for about 2-3 weeks now, and PayPal still won't give me my money back, though they can clearly see that the seller, Ebay, and myself have all mutually backed out of the deal and the seller ended up relisting his item and selling it anyway. No bad feedback was left and no hard feelings were had, but PayPal are being a bunch of dwarven clown shoes.

    GIVE ME MY MONEY...

I want to give it to Ashley XD

  • Resisting urge to post that stupid smiley face thing... no but seriously... no harm intended, though I found his joke to be rather funny.

On topic though, has anyone tried running Construct in Linux through Lindows (or whatever the current Windows emulator/boot software is?) or even on Mac through Bootcamp? I'd be curious to see if it works or not?

  • Well I did in fact pay for the photoshoot rights, so I can use the pictures anyway I like...

    Jewsen

I'm working on lots of graphics at once, but I like to do things "in order" which is kind of weird I know, but it seems to help keep me focused and stops me from getting overwhelmed/confused about what I need to really get done next... I guess having nice menu's and GUI helps put me in the mood as well and always gives me something nice to look at and think "This is gonna be awesome when it's done!"

    Vrav

LOL... yes, yes it is... but I acctually paid for these

I've got like 100+ more of this same photoshoot... so it should be good

  • What about people who don't have english as their first language?

Also just because you don't understand technology doesnt mean you're dumb. They might not know what directX is or a dll.

People that don't understand technology are ignorant, not dumb... as I said there is a difference. It's ok to be ignorant about something because you can't be expected to know everything, and ignorance can be fixed by learning... but blatantly refusing to read 2 sentences out of sheer laziness, then give up in frustration is DUMB. Also, Construct will eventually have multi language support from the look of things. I'm sure it's not just people that speak english that don't read message boxes...

Captain's suggestion is still the best, though Attan makes a good point by keeping it simple, which you can subliminally read just by trying to click the OK or CANCEL button.

  • You guys are just plainm being asses now, my post talking about linux and opengl is not unreasonable, do you guys really think your funny poking fun at us?

No... but you have to admit Deadeye's comment was full of win. We get what you are saying and it is a legitimate topic of discussion, but he was just making a joke... I think it would be really cool for Construct to eventually support DirectX, but all we are saying is it's a lot of work to cater for an additional minority audience. If OpenGL wasn't so horrible to work with then it wouldn't be a big deal I guess.

  • Who is that and how can I get a date with her

LOL that is Bianca Beauchamp... and if you find out how, tell me an we will both know

  • SoldjahBoy, the idea is to make it so EVERYBODY can make the needed changes and run the applications. If programmers went around creating error messages essentially saying "you poor sap, you're too stupid to use my app," I don't think there would be any users at all. Besides, think about it. You had to learn somehow at some point too, right?

True... I just get frustrated at the endless idiots that come into my shop everyday... it's easy for me to just think "you are dumb... begone!"

Having said that, when I was learning... I read the messages and took note of what they said. Ignorance and plain lazy/stupidity are two different things. I still think the way you worded the error message is best though as the "technical" information was put at the end so people who don't understand/care about that stuff don't get turned off of reading the helpful dialog box.

Stupid people should still be dragged to the street and shot though IMO.

  • I always read... I gues that makes me SMRT!

Anyway, if they are too dumb to read a 2 line error message, they don't deserve to play the game anyway... stupid people are stupid. Having said that, I like the way the captain put it was best, all the technical jargon is at the end of the message.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Breasts ... err I mean, better!

Yeah she's got kinda big honkers, but she's wearing more clothes and is better looking than the other girl I had there... thumbs up so far... that's good because I have a 120 photo set of Bianca with the yellow viper. It should make the various scenes where she will show up a lot more uniform than trying to chop a background out and photoshop in extra clothing/items/etc.
