  • I saw myself wanting this the other day for something, as well.. But for now, you could always just make a sprite in a huge picture, and scale it down as you see fit, that way it is pretty flexible. Of course that might take up a lot more memory, but I guess this could just be a temporary workaround for it.

I guess it's that way it's "always been done" up until now... the way that TFG and MMF is so limited in terms of objects like this, you always had to improvise and this method is what I always used to use. As long as the circle diameter doesn't need to be changed then you don't even have to make it large and scale it down, you could just make it the size you need it and save that extra memory.

  • I checked this out finally for the first time the other day, and I have to say this is really cool. This just goes to prove that you can do anything really as long as you have the vision and scope to pull it off... I would never have THOUGHT about this, though now in hind sight its quite obvious. Well done mate!

  • No, no, no. I'm talking about the box object, NOT the 3D Box object. I need to an object that can draw a circle like the Box object draws a square.

Oh my bad I misunderstood what you were talking about... Does the circle diameter need to be dynamic? If not you could simply make a sprite object which is the size you need it to be. If the "blast area" can be "upgraded" or something like that, then yeah, perhaps a circle object would be handy otherwise you would end up with blurry enlarged sprite objects.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Very nice tutorial Capt'n. Nothing I couldn't have done myself being a more experienced "klicker" but certainly very clear-cut and well worded for beginners. Good job indeed! Kind of makes me want to write some simple tutorials for things now lol... not that I have the time!

  • Yeah my pc's good to go, actually just built it not too long ago

Not running any mis-matched RAM in there? Also make sure that your CPU and RAM are running at the correct clock speed and not over/under clocked... this can also cause stability issues.

Does your computer do any other weird stuff like freeze, crash randomly, or reboot itself without warning? If not, then it could be "just one of those things".

Hopefully we can figure it out because after seeing your pixel art I want to see some of the games you can come up with

  • D:

    That sucks :/

  • I think Ash stated at some point there would be some additional 3D objects added... it's probably not going to be any time really soon though unfortunately.

  • Either that, or you can get a hold of BootCamp for your Mac and install Windows on it as a dual bootup. That way you can do everything on the one machine

  • Personally I like to do all the graphics first so I don't have any placeholder garbage... plus it helps me to remember what still needs to be added etc.

I start with the title screen and finish at the GAME OVER or CONGRATULATION YOU WIN screen, doing all the bits in between.

I do all the coding/assembly/scripting last

  • LMFAO this is gold man... GOLD!

I haven't laughed this hard at anything in ages

  • I'm not sure why this conversation went awry. I do not want full 3D. What I want basically is the ability to load 3D models onto Construct rather than just cubes.

That Starfox example is a good example of what can be made in Construct. The only thing missing is something to take the place of the 3D box object; a 3D model object of some sort.

I do beleive Ash was considering improving the 3D content of Construct, but I think it was more in terms of basic meshes like cylinders and domes etc... Importing 3D models is probably tricker than it looks, though I was kind of wishing for the same thing as it would rapidly open doors of extreme awesome-ness.

  • [quote:38dbv4b4]-Paste into MS Paint because copied image is not supported by other editors

Really? I don't quite understand. You are supposed to be able to paste the image from the clipboard to any graphics app.

    Zscreen seems nice though.

I paste clipboard into Photoshop all the time, so I'm not sure either? :S

  • Oh lawd... kill me now PLEASE!

No I mean it, someone sharpen a pencil and jab my eyes out... do it now!

    Joh

The fact that your English isn't the best, is not the reason that I (and others I'm sure) don't really like you... it's the fact you act like a big JERK for no reason. Stop trying to be a macho-sadist-masachist and behaving like a 2 year old that was just denied a ride in the Wiggles "Big Red Car", and I (and others I'm sure) will stop thinking you are a tool-bag.
