  • Add a "Bound To Layout" behavior to the object that you want to create. It will bound to the layout's edges. Or describe better what exactly do you want.

  • Yes - I should have made that clearer in the blog post I guess - PhoneGap is now equal to Ejecta on all our performance benchmarks, not just that one. It makes sense because they both are currently GPU accelerated but not JIT-compiled. WKWebView adds JIT compilation so will allow PhoneGap to pull way ahead of Ejecta, instead of simply being equal.

It's great then, this is the thing i wanted to hear since iOS 8 released.

  • Not quite - if you read the HTML5 game performance on iOS 8 blog post, it points out that as of iOS 8 PhoneGap is equally fast to wrappers, but has a lot more features. So you can start using PhoneGap already. And when the WKWebView problem does get fixed, hopefully in a patch soon, you'll get a big performance boost - way above the wrappers - without having to do anything other than rebuild with the latest PhoneGap.

Yeah, i see that phonegap on ios 8 is as fast as ejecta, but theres only a renderer test, what about the phonegap's performance? Have you tried sbperftest with phonegap? Is it's result equals to ejecta?

It's actually 50mb for Google Play, and I don't think iOS implements a limit. Intel are working on support for expansion APKs to work around the limit, too.

Ah yeah, my bad 30mb is for cocoonjs, 50 for google play, and i'm not sure of appstore but apple says that developers can upload additional files, they had something like a limitation for 3-4g download for appstore or something like that, about 60-100mb. Anyway, i'm happy that the work on expansion files is on progress.

  • In this day and age, size really isn't a factor.

Size is still a factor for c2 games, since google play and appstore has a 30mb limit for executables. If someday a function to make additional files will be added to crosswalk or c2, then the size will not matter.

  • It means nothing, until phonegap or apple fix their damn bugs where wkwebview cannot load files using file:// URL.

  • There's nothing you can do with it, when you export a game to crosswalk, your apk = images, sounds(2,3mb) + browser based on chromium engine(16mb or more)

  • Try Construct 3

  • A lot of actions and events, it's possible for sure, but there's so much things to do, it's gonna be a wall of text.

  • I have a blog post covering the performance differences coming up, but in short I did not measure any significant performance difference in either CocoonJS or Ejecta between iOS 7.1 and iOS 8, but PhoneGap and Safari have seen some big improvements, and a future PhoneGap update should bring performance up to Safari level.

Hello Ashley. I don't have any ios device, so can you tell me, is this new safari updates and new WKWebView API are really so cool? What is with iphone 4s? Is it still has ugly performance with ios8, or now i can run games with physics(30 objects) and tiled backgrounds at 30fps or more? And after that future phonegap update, this means that i can run my games in safari in preview, and i get the same results after export to phonegap?

  • I tried that on pc with 660ti and intel core i5 3750 and i got various results, depends on time this thing running, 50fps on start and 15fps after couple of minutes, then 50 again.

  • MacBook Pro 13 - 15: 22 fps, i say if it's run 5fps on iphone 5 it's a good result then

  • I can't understand, i have galaxy s3 and when i press back button in my games made with crosswalk, they are closing. And theres an action in browser "On back button released" or something like that.

  • My games looks okay on both platforms. It will be a lot easier to help you if you post a screenshot here, or just give more info.

  • Only microphone works ok on mobile, other things work ugly or don't work at all.

  • Sisyphus, it isn't for a mobile device

No matter, there's no such function in c2, maybe search plugins section, but i'm not sure that something like that exists.
