• To everyone who purchased this tilemap (and/or the 'Light' version);

I would love to hear from ya!

Are you happy with your purchase? Is there something missing, or maybe not working as it should and in need of a fix?

Feel free to tell me what you like about this tileset, or perhaps what you don't like as much.

You can either post here on the forums, send a PM or mail me;

You may - or may not - know that I'm working on an update for both of the Ancient Temple tilemaps. This update will be free and adds a bunch of brand new tiles to the current set(s).

I've already got stuff packed and ready to go, but I would like to give you a chance to make some suggestions (if you have any). What would you like to see added?

Maybe, if I feel it fits the theme, I could implement it in the upcoming update!

If you don't have a suggestion for an upcoming update or have any feedback in text form, please let me know by giving it a star rating in the store.

Thanks in advanced for you input/feedback! It would help me out a lot. This way I can create more of what you like!

Have a good weekend!

• 20 minutes and the sale ends! If you were planning on purchasing the Ruins of Light tilemap, now might be a good time.

• procrastinator I wholeheartedly agree, but I've found it to be less time consuming than flicking between Photoshop and C2 (plus it doesn't make my laptop behave like it's about to blast into orbit!)

Onion-skinning in the animation editor would be endlessly useful too.

I highly recommend Pyxel Edit! http://pyxeledit.com/

Super cheap, fast, light and does everything you need.

Animation, onion skinning, layers, blend modes, exporting in all kinds of ways.

Been using it for some months now, before I never did pixel art, now I'm all over it haha!

• I'm working on a Platformer Movement Template that includes features such as:

• rope grab, climb, slide, drop
• ledge hang, climb, drop
• wall jump, slide
• animations that correlate to all these actions

Easy rope creation (just place one object that has instance variables for number of rope segments, length, slippery boolean(if rope should be slippery), etc).

Here's a gif:

Very nice!

• Here's a "small" reminder/notification!

I'm currently working on an update which will add even more content on top of the 512 tiles it already contains!

This update will be totally free for everyone who has purchased this tilemap ('Ruins of Light') or the 'Ruins of Dark' from the Scirra Store. More updates are planned for the future.

I really hope you like my work and that my art can somehow be of service in making your game(s)!

Either way; by purchasing my assets you support me and the development of my own game. So thanks in advance for that.

Enjoy your weekend!

• Looking somebody with Nintendo Dev Kit in The Netherlands, to team-up developing games for the console, nearby Alkmaar would be great.

Hello there, welcome aboard!

I'm Dutch, located in Amsterdam, and working on a game for Wii U. I'm a one-man team and acquired a dev kit, but I kinda focus on going solo and figuring that all out. It's not easy, but I love it.

So I'm not the one to team-up with, although, I'm always happy to get to know more devs in the "neighbourhood", grow a bit of a Dutch dev network and perhaps share some experiences from time to time.

Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. Can't guarantee I can answer Nintendo related specifics (NDA and stuff), but anyway, happy to help - for what it's worth..

• It seems like you have not changed the -50 degrees angle.

In Construct 2 the angles are:

North: -90

West: 180 <-> East: 0

South: 90

The movement of the angle stays the same when space bar is pressed the sprite will move from it's relative position. So "East" becomes "West" when mirrored.

Hope that helped.

• Not only do you need to mirror the sword sprite, but also mirror the movement and the angle when the space bar is triggered.

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• There are many ways to achieve results in Construct 2. It's hard to give a solid answer, all games are differ. There is, however, working with limitations and using power in better ways.

You could create the floor, break it up into smaller images and (re)building. But maybe the regular Tilemap would be better for that?

I recommend reading this for some fundamentals; https://www.scirra.com/blog/112/remembe ... our-memory

• Ohh yeah, it looks good! Great job.

I just don´t get why it should be isometric? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isometric_projection)

To me it looks like a plattformer or Zelda-like set:-)

Thanks man! This particular tileset is meant to be for games with a straight up side-view, like a platformer. But I think Apox Inc was talking about isometric tilesets in general. Or, maybe I don't get what you're saying haha

• robin Sommer This may be one of the few packs I actually look into getting. I wish there were more isometric packs on here.

Awesome! Means a lot!

Yeah, isometric assets are not common. I think it's because few people would choose to make an isometric game, and rather go for the easier to develop top-down view. But who knows what the future holds! The store just opened and new stuff poors in daily.

Maybe I'll give it a shot But, I'm working on too many other things at the moment so that might take some while.

• robin Sommer Looking good man!

Thank you very much!
