  • tchem , please keep us posted! You've clearly put a great deal of work into the style. Perhaps the character movement could be a bit more fluid, though? (I don't mean to be discouraging! That's just the one potential weak spot I noted.)

  • ThunderZ , great searchlight effect, and thanks for explaining how to use blend on a light layer to make it!

  • Meloo . thanks for making a game! Were I to make a couple suggestions, it would be that the attack delay makes it difficult to time your strikes. Unless this is an important mechanic and will be explained in a certain way, it might be an unnecessary obstacle for players.

Second, there are occasionally columns which initially look like walls which might block the player's path -- maybe the graphics could be changed by subduing or shadowing the background elements so they're clearly not gameplay elements.

I look forward to seeing how this develops, and I hope you can raise the capital for your license(s)!

  • I mostly agree with Mipey. The snail and dirt/rocks have a unique look to them, and I think the banana could actually go either way, the but the trees have a "cut-out" feel. I actually *like* trees 1 & 2, but they don't fit the other other art. If I were giving art direction, I'd say convert the snail and ground to match Tree 3.

  • Thanks, mrcgkh ! Really fluid. You can easily see how if limitations were applied to each segment's rotation, you'd have realistic skeletal movement.

  • Very cool. I see you're trying to get some depth in your mock-up. Keep posting!

  • That must only happen occasionally. I just popped into a thread and when I came back to the forum view, the views only went up by 1.

  • I don't know if it matters, but I only see that when I have image loading turned off, otherwise it looks ok.

As long as we're on the topic of mobile, whenever that's supported I'd love to have tutorials or large manual sections show as a continuously scrolling page, which will reduce background loading and loading times going page to page.

  • Tom, I still have a two-badge discrepancy between the "Badges Earnt" and the manual tally below.

  • Tom,

I'm really stuck here ... I've been maxed out on Fanatic for several days, but if I avoid the website to reset it, I'll also wipe out my Active/Notably/Hyper progress as well. This used to be a problem with the Updater chain as well, although that might be fixed.

Would you guys be able to fix these badges and counters so they automatically roll over once you max out the final badge?

I know making all the gamification function adds a lot to your workload, but I hope the results from rewarding desired behaviors makes it worth it. =)

    Thanks!

  • Arcanith

Interesting ... you also posted an active link on the real-life pictures thread. Glitchy, but at least you aren't a troll, so no harm =P

It might just be a bit frustrating until either Tom figures out what's going on or you hit 500 rep.

I can see you've been trying to find ways to increase your rep, and you've already done two of the easiest ones (first comment, upvoting a comment), but there are also Scirra subscriptions which will net you another 150, as I discuss in the How Do I Quickly Get Reputation Points? thread.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for helping ramones and Jayjay !

So it looks like the broken badges are likely to be certain consecutive counter badges. I didn't get a Religious Updater and one other, and you didn't get your 30-day or one-year badges. Sounds like Tom could help when he gets back from the weekend!

Oh, and thanks Jayjay! Glad you liked it!

  • Which of your posts was it, Arcanith ? Anyone can paste the text of a URL into their post, but users with fewer than 500 rep can't embed direct links (i.e., links you click on to follow).

I'm guessing what happened is you pasted a URL, but not a hyperlink.

  • damainman , all right, I upvoted your comment on my tutorial (and thanks for the kind words!), so we just two more.

It really was a nice comment; would two other souls help damainman with his experiment and upvote as well? (maybe mineet ? =P )

    Thanks! It's for SCIENCE.
