  • Did you download apk from google play (alpha) or local apk?

If local apk, try download apk from google play (alpha).

Local APK. I will test an alpha download now and report back, maybe this is what has been my issue the whole time.

  • Crosswalk template2 — Now for sale in the Scirra Store!

I just purchased. Checking it out now. The only thing I am having any trouble with is the readme.txt files. Having trouble figuring out the Intel XDK stuff. Thanks for the .capx and is well done!

Once I have another build available, it will have a PRO version and have IAPs. So the sky is the limit really. Just depends on your creativity and patience on making the game awesome. For all we know, Flappy Bird could have been created in Construct 2, and the guy was making $50k USD a day at one point from the game.

    100 dollars per day ?

    Oh no. Total.

  • I was having that issue if i signed out of the google play in my app and tried signing into another. Did you set up your events right? did you put in your leaderboard ID? or your Game ID?

The only place I found that I could enter my game ID was in the Crosswalk additions.xml copy/paste. I entered my leaderboard ID into the events in my game. As for as setting up the events right, I believe I have.

  • cranberrygame I am trying to get the PhonegapGame plugin to work and I am having a problem. I took the demo that was with doc folder with the plugin. I added my information to it in Crosswalk XDK, uploaded it as alpha in the Play Store just to see if I could get the leaderboards to work, and set up the leaderboard. On the app now, it tries to sign into google play. It alerts me with *Unknown error. and an OK box. Any idea what's wrong? I have it up in the store as a web app, and followed AndreaSR's guide for exporting in XDK and setting up Google Play.

  • I am having issues now with the new XDK build (1536). When I export my project via the Android export.. load it into a new project in Intel XDK, and build it using the Crosswalk for Android option, I am getting a black screen on the ARM and x86 built apk. Now, when I build the app with the Android option, it works. I have tried my game, and a test app. The test involved no 3rd party plugins. Just one layout with one square sprite on it, and when I exported it and built it, still a black screen.

EDIT: I am uninstalling XDK and reinstalling. I think, when I upgraded the new build, I didn't uninstall the old one, and it might have caused some issues. It seems that it's something on my end because if it was a major issue, it would be on the forums more. So Going to uninstall/reinstall and see if it fixes it.

  • Sorry for bumping an old thread, but this seems the best place to ask.

I am switching from CocoonJS to Crosswalk because I want to use the "smart ads" which makes the ads less intrusive.

I created one .apk that worked using Crosswalk, but now every apk I build and download just gives me my splash screen and then a black screen. I did it exactly the way I did before. I have even tried to build a one layout app with nothing but one sprite on it, and still getting a black screen on my phone. The emulator in XDK works though, showing my apps.

  • Do you have triggers to handle all errors as well and display them if any occur? Otherwise how do you know if anything is going wrong?

I redid the code, and added a few triggers. My scores are posting, and "On High-Score Request Success" Web alert saying "working." It is working according to that, but not visibly showing the leaderboard.

  • - so you just put the ttf file right in the files folder?

Yes. I can confirm it works with CocoonJS. I use the font called "Attack of the Cucumber" in my Android games, and it's the only I could get it to work without using sprite fonts.

  • cranberrygame you are awesome! Checking it all out now, and if I can get it to work, would you mind if I was to make some video tutorials of using your plugins? You would get credit, of course! Thanks!

  • Thanks AndreasR I am going to try your tutorial tomorrow, and hopefully it will work! I got a few questions though. How can I test the leaderboards without uploading the updated version of the game to the app store? I have the game on the app store now, but the build I am working on, I wam trying to add the leaderboards. Is there a way of testing it in c2 or the Intel XDK on the computer without actually making the app? I am having a lot of down time while compiling because of the upload speeds of my internet connection.

I have used CocoonJS for a few months now, and I loved it at first, but it's starting to lose C2 support, even though they JUST released a new plugin this past day. Would love to see them get back in the game some more!

As for Crosswalk, I am only learning it now, but really like the UI on the Intel XDK.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I have not personally had issues with it, but I have never "minified," I remember there being a lot on the forums here about it and on the ludai forums on their website. Once I get home I will try to find you some more information and actual links to the explanations. Though I remember from the official plugin .md file it saying "Set the destination folder where the project will be exported, We recommend to uncheck the “minify script” option."

  • One project. 5 layouts and 50 events on 4 of them. Also using 20 Global Variables. Before I cleaned my event sheets up, I had 150+ events on each layout.

  • Iolva No, sorry for the late response. Also, what wrapper are you using? If you are using CooconJS or Crosswalk, I recommend not using the "Minify script." These two wrappers do it automatically on their end while compiling, and could possibly cause some issues. But to answer your question, no, not much of a difference. The only issues that I have come across with the newer Java versions is the -jarsigner.
