  • I found this on their support site dated 9 days ago:

"Thank you for your report. We're announcing some news regarding Construct 2 users, soon. :-)"

Hopefully it adds support for the missing features to publish to OUYA. My next game is perfect for the console and I would like a dual Wii U/OUYA launch when it comes out.

  • Although I don't have any experience to base this on, you may want to consider Windows Phone 8 & BB10. Even though there are less users, there are also less apps to compete with and it may be easier to stand out.

    Few Things,

You will need a Personal or Business license to Construct 2 for the Wii U exporter.

As far as how you get the exporter, if you would like to PM me on the Nintendo forums, my name is Nutzaboutpoker there as well, I can guide you to the right place to request the exporter.

Adding Wii U support is part of the reason I bought my license, so there is the proof that it will bring in more revenue right there. I think developing game for a dedicated gaming device is much nicer than a smartphone or tablet.

I am very grateful for what the team at Scirra has been able to do and I haven't come across the issue of not being able to produce the type of game that I wanted.

  • Sorry guys, I asked around and was told it would be best not to answer any questions pertaining to features related to Wii U development. Please don't let this hinder you from going forward and applying to the program.

  • For all we know the WiiU export could be as bad as CocoonJS until further notice :(

It has perform very well so far in my tests. BLOK DROP U runs solid and is a very physics driven game. I have heard CocoonJS does not do so well in that regard. My new title I'm working on has been running a solid 58-60 FPS.

  • If HTML5 is the future then Google needs to accept it as a native programming language for Android.

It didn't sound like that, although it did sound like you were asking and answering your own question all at once. XD

As for an answer to your question, let me ask around and see if it is public knowledge or something blocked by my NDA and I'll get back at you.

If your Nintendo "friend" told you WebGL wasn't supported, and your special effect requires WebGL, wouldn't that be your answer?

After looking at them it seems they are the same studio using two different names, is this correct?

  • I would like to start the search for a 2D pixel artist and animator for my next Construct 2 project. This is a paid position. If you are interested, please send samples and a description of yourself and prices to rcmadiax@gmail.com, as well as posting a reply on this thread. Thank you!

  • Sorry for my lack of experience here, but how do I go about doing that?
