midnight's Forum Posts

  • Hi everyone,

I just completed this game I've been making in C2 for the past six years and it's unfortunately too big (2 GB) to fit on the Scirra Arcade. Any advice on where I can host it other than my site would be appreciated!

This is a fan remake of a game called Hell Creatures Rotten Corpse originally made in 2002.

This is a platformer very similar to Ghouls 'n Ghosts (difficulty and all) and has over 80 levels, 11 huge bosses and plenty of secrets to find. It's a browser game (desktop only). I hope you enjoy the game! I spent a lot of time into making it!

    Try the game here!

  • Thank you both for the replies! I was able to make it work like I wanted :)

  • Hi,

I have a platform game and want to spawn bullets that shoot towards the player (so 180 degrees) every 2 seconds.

Since the game is scrolling, my initial idea was to set the "bullet spawner" on the UI layer (which has 0,0 parallax) but that makes the bullet speed weird if the player is moving.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Not sure if this helps, but are you aware you can include event sheets in a layout? If you tends to reuse a lot of common events (like the bulk of the game's engine) you should make those part of your master event sheet to include in all your levels.

  • Thanks Razor for looking into this. I can't seem to find how to create that System condition posted above.

I have been messing with LOS and just can't get it to work like I expected it. I figured I could have a bunch of stationary enemies with this behavior, and have them shoot at the player when he is visible, but it just doesn't work like I'm expecting it to.

I came across this tutorial which I think will help me (or anyone with this issue):

Instead of relying on line of sight, just calculate the distance between the player an enemy for its range.

  • Here's a game I have been working on called Spanky. I've just about reached the limitations of the free demo haha. Let me know what you think!

...Hmm, it works in IE but not in Chrome..?

I have the file sin the correct location and even re-downloaded them

    with no resolution. What's up?

Operating system & service pack: WIndows 7 Ultimate 6.1

Construct 2 version: R116 (Also occurred in 115)

    Thanks for looking.

  • Are you the original author of Siege? The art style seems different than the original. I like the campaign idea and night/day and faction concepts. But you said this project is cancelled, right? :(

  • Thanks for the feedback! Good work, loving this game haha. The character should move a little faster. I wasn't always able to jump when on the moving platform.

  • ParCutz

Ooh I like your game! I have a soft spot for weird platformers! The music is freaky; I think it's the best part. Have you continued work on it?

  • Here's a game I am working on called Defender.

It's an action game inspired from Wizards and Warriors and Act Raiser.

  • Sweet chickens! It is working now! Gracias Ashley!

  • Dude, nice game!

  • Actually, the game works when ran from the drop box link, though the Facebook app does not work. Facebook demands a secure link, so I just altered the link from http to https.

When I exported the project, I simply placed a folder called "hellfire" into the drop box public folder, then added the files/folders as they were made from the export. I just placed them in the root public folder without any change.

  • Yep, that was it. Thanks bros!!
