  • The game will also now be developed for Ipad and other Ios and Android devices after the final game has been completed.

    Awesome! Keep up the hard work!!! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I've played H?pfen!!! Nice physics and graphics! Are you still refining the concept?

    Thank YOU jegcelorio for playing H?pfen! Cool!!<img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I don't want to co-opt your thread - this is about Gadabout after all - but yes, I am still refining H?pfen. That's why I enjoyed your "how to play" screen, as I need to better explain how my game works, as most people don't get it. So you've inspired me. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Congratulations on all of the Arcade plays for Gadabout!!!

  • Nicely done! Really like how you approached the "how to play" in your game. Good job!

  • Excellent UI - I like the semi-transparent controls. Looks like this demo is on an Android device? Are you using AppMobi or PhonGap or something like that?

    Good job!

  • Fun! Nicely done. Good use of the "overpass" to add some challenge. I like how the car "turns" to follow the direction (maybe that's a default control in C2, don't know, but I like how you used it.) Now add some physics so you can knock cars out of the way! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I like this. Good foundation to build off of.

This might be a nice .caproj to share. Having clear examples like this, people can learn a lot from. (me included!) <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Very well explained and presented! Looks very cool.

FYI: You can post video in these posts by using the bbcode:

{id}[/youtube] - which might help too show your vision too.

I really enjoyed the art style of the "motion graphics" of the video. I'm sure you've got all sorts of ideas of game related content, but maybe a mechanism that "records" (keeps track of your decisions) and assembles a "motion comic" at the end of the round/game for you to watch later would be super cool! Writing your "story" using your gameplay decisions!

Basically you'd have pre recorded animations that would be assembled based on info sent from the game - "at this decision point you chose (A), which lead to (B)" = animation of ship crashing into asteroid etc. I'm sure there's some fancy coding that would allow you to store the clips elsewhere (YouTube) and then make a "playlist" to play the events in order. Maybe watch them on YouTube - and get add revenue from that. People could watch other "stories" as well. Might need another Kickstarter campaign to hire animators though <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Good work. Got me thinking about stuff, so that's a good thing!

LOVE the tagline "In space no one can hear your decisions" - brilliant!

    Good luck!

  • I really liked the opening "cinematic"!!! That was very cool. I was hoping the whole game would be like that (not sure how that would work exactly, but I was hoping!)

    I'm terrible at platformers, but that's just me, not a comment on your game <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I would have liked to have seen your skills for the cinematic worked into the gameplay for a new type of game experience. Why not a side scrolling "adventure" that plays out over different "panels"? It could still have some platformer type actions, but might be something a little different and unique. I think you have a good concept with your characters, art, and music, so it deserves something a little "more" to set it apart. - just my 2 cents! - lol

THANK YOU for not making have to login to Facebook to try the game. I appreciate that. Sometimes you just want to play a game without making a big deal out of it. -lol

    Overall, good work!

  • Can you play this "online" with another player or is this more of a "board" to play with another person present?

If you could make it into an online "multiplayer" game, it might be a good Facebook type app. Looks nice. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I kind of like the idea of an "Asteroids Chase" type game - there's some cool opportunities for that. But make that damn enemy monster SMALLER! lol - give us a chance to avoid it!

Maybe make a group of (small) enemy ships that have followed you into this "trench" and you can turn around and shoot them. I kind of see a Star Wars type canyon run thing - with targets to shoot (ion cannons) as you navigate towards the end "goal" for each level. But still using that "drifting" feeling of the Asteroids controls.

I DO really like what you are doing with the camera. Seems like there is a zoom out or something? Cool. Good job.

  • Nice job on the UI! You put a lot of work (and thought) into providing the player with options and info, good job! I know that wasn't easy!

Good choice of music! Easy to listen too, and fits the mood of the game. Enjoyable.

I like the gameplay - must be based on a card game? I liked it once I started to get some success! lol

Congratulations on getting the game uploaded and out there to play! And good thinking on the "touch" controls. Hopefully it will bring you some good "mobile" success <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • You are off to a great start!

Try preloading the sounds using the Preload action. That may help them play sooner.

(event)SYSTEM: ON START OF LAYOUT: (action) AUDIO : PRELOAD (sound file)

  • Check this out.

Use lowcase bbcode for the url provided in the "Share" part under your game.

    Also moving to "Website issues".

Kyatric - you are awesome! Thank you so much for ALL of the generous amounts of time you spend answering questions and posting helpful code. You rock.
