  • What if he want's to make a platformer rpg like Cave Story? you cannot do that in rpg toolkit and besides, with construct you are not forced to install the rpgmaker binaries to play, in Construct you could just make it standalone without needing anything else and you can do much more in Construct then using a program that limits you on one genre.

  • Is it possible so that you can use Construct on other computers not in your home? I have an 8GB USB drive (Construct fits in it perfectly)

    However I want it so you can work on your games when you're not at home, is it possible to use Construct on your USB on other computers or if you install Construct on your USB it adds to the registry that is installed on that computer and if you plug your USB on another computer Construct say's it's badly installed?

    Is it possible anyhow to use Construct on other PC's that don't allow you to install files? (like computers with administrative privileges)

  • Finally, a classic platformer, I just downloaded this and finished it in minutes as it is very short, the game to me felt like the good old 2D platformer games back in the days like Mario, Rayman and the such. (this one really felt like Rayman 1 to me, perhaps it's because those grim rocky levels which reminded me of a specific level of Rayman)

    Great game but kind of short, I liked it either way

    Is this game finished or still being continued? or is it a prototype game for other great games to come?

  • Just checked and upon right-clicking the layout folder in the projects panel it doesn't have the option to make new folders inside folders, seem's like it's a no go from what I just tried

  • I don't know about layout's but you cannot make folders for objects, however you can create folders in the Project panel but that's it, I too want folders for objects in a future version of Construct as well.

  • Yes as deadeye said I much prefer using the Japanese games style controls like ZXC, if you could make it so that you can switch controls I will prefer it more, so far I like it except for the controls feel bad for me.

    Well, actually you do. I guess you should have asked KNPMASTER if it was okay to use the graphics or at least you shouldn't pass this off as GUNNER 4. "GUNNER the fangame" or something along the lines would be more suitable, since you're not the original creator of the GUNNER series.

    As far as your beta goes: It's a solid start, but why don't you try to improve on certain things. I always thought the way shooting diagonally was handled in GUNNER is very weird. Why not make it properly with different animations for each angle? I'd like to see that.

    I thought it's OK to rip sprites as long as you don't plan to sell them or call them your own if they aren't? ofcourse gaining permission is always better then simply steal them tough.

  • One other thing that I call a weakness for Construct is the lack of making folders for objects, it get's harder to have multiple enemies objects and you cannot store them in a folder and I wish they will take care of that soon, it helps finding multiple objects much easier.

    Also don't prevent yourself from using Construct just because you're not an artist, I am not one either but I still tend to create my own sprites (which as you can guess are not high quality) and make a game with them, I haven't released anything about my project yet and I can't work on it now either, I don't have time but I do tend to release something someday.

    You mean the one in my post? It's division.

    My chars health position is X-50 and Y-120 yet it looks fine, I wonder why should I put the division sign for, either way it works so far, atleast for the player, I haven't put enemies with health yet but I will work that out later.
