  • Trying to get that sun bloom effect that David originally posted, to work whit layers and zoom. I've got it to work with layers whit some formulas I found from the forums but cannot figure out how to implement zoom.

    Maybe there is better way to do this but since I assume OR condition is't working correctly this seems to work.

    Edit:Actually it seems to be quite a heavy hit to performance. At least in my case.

  • It's a bit shame that the music stops when you die. Maybe just reduce volume a bit also could it help about the dizzynes to make it a bit less round if that makes sense <img src="smileys/smiley24.gif" border="0" align="middle" />. I really would like to have your drawing skills.. can I just borrow them? Even a little while? Waiting to see how RPG stuff goes.

  • I could also test as much as I can. By the way that first stage boss could't hit me when I was on the right edge of the screen and I still fell from the map at least on one spot. Also on third stage there was some spikes that did't hurt. Second stage boss died quite quickly whit that 3 direction shooting knife. Otherwise this game rocks <img src="smileys/smiley16.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> Specially I like the music.

    Sorry to bother again :)

    I removed Magicam from the game. It seems that it can cause some black screen problems on some computers. Also running on XP compatibility mode could maybe help. Only the exe file

    There is now new version. I removed that custom fade effect Download

    If this doesn't work I have to check it tomorrow.

    Edit: Oh and try removing that 1.png from Gfx/Terrain should have done something about it before posting. It is 1280x512 single picture so there might be some proplems.

    You probably mean after you click Continue/Ready. Then there is something wrong whit loading the map. You could maybe wait a few second or do you hear swing sound if you press left mouse.

    Slightly out of date

    Don't mind the mainmenu too much. Recommendet to load game to get some items <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    So far there is only one up to date map and others are old test areas.

    It seems to crash sometimes when hitting enemy I think it's from old damage calculations that are maybe a little over complicated. Also crashes quite often when quitting to mainmenu.

    Can be difficult at first <img src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Controls:

    A and D = move

    S = crouch

    SPACE = jump

    MOUSE = look

    LEFT MOUSE = attack

    RIGHT MOUSE = BLOCK

    when moving press W to run

    TAB = change gear/weapon set

    ENTER = inventory

    E,R,T,Y = use consumable

    F = interact (change map when map icon is shown and when crouched to pick item)

    SHIFT = show item names

    Inventory:

    LEFT MOUSE = move item

    F = Drop item

    over information box there are buttons to show offensive and defensive stats.

    Character sheet:

    Increase and decrease attributes whit mouse

    I and C buttons to navigate

    Extra:

    F1 = Fullscreen

    F3 = windowed

    J = slow time

    K = normal time

    Backspace = reset map (not the map where you currently are)

    If you are having performance issues try deleting 1.png from Gfx/Terrain. It is not chop'd yet.

    Any feedback is much appreciated.

    Thanks! there is still quite a lot of repetition on the textures needs at least few kinds of foliage and i'm still learning how to draw :). That backround is quite plain and mainly for testing. But maybe it's not so important for the demo.

  • Action platformer rpg Angient Heritage I have been making for almost a year now on classic. Demostration of the battle system mostly whitout any special skills.

    Still have to deside how I make backrounds. Would like to do something like in Muramasa or at least what I can achieve :) not really a great artist or anything.
