  • Hi guys and gals,

We are freelance game developers, always in need for some 2d artists for various projects. ranging from:

Game characters Environment GUI Marketing (App Icon, screenshots (promoted), Ads) Effects And sometimes an entire game's graphics

Please send us some portfolios, hourly rates and time zone.

We prefer vector artists (illustrator or InkScape), working knowledge of C2/Unity would be ideal.

    Cheers,

    Jacques

  • Update:

Setting the Crosswalk runtime to 7, solved the lag we had on the games.

  • Hi all,

Please note, this is more about HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

Currently busy with a big project, where we have a popup (DIV) over the C2 canvas. The popup works perfectly on desktops, but on mobile you cant scroll the content of the popup....

If I comment out the cr_createRuntime("c2canvas"); statement in the exported index.html file. The touch events works fine.

Seems like C2 is handling the touch events, and preventing it or stopping it from propagation to other HTML elements.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

  • Ashley, fixed! Thanks!

  • Problem Description

Construct (205) crashes with any of these scenarios:

    Dropping images into layout

    Editing animations

Changing property values of objects in a layout

    Attach a Capx

Multiple CAPX files, even new projects.

    Operating System and Service Pack

    Windows 8 - 64 bit

    Construct 2 Version ID

    205

  • Here is the capx, if anyone wants to do something similar

    Enjoy!

  • UberDark, thanks, the problem isnt the scrolling, its the seamless scrolling. To be more clear, if the user gets to the far right side off the map, they should start seeing the far left side of the map again, almost like place the maps next to each other.

But, I was able to solve this. Made the map into tiles, when a map tile is off screen, it moves itself to the other side, depending on which way the user is scrolling. The map icons are pinned to the tiles

  • I want to create a seamless map scrolling system, for level selecting in a game.

Here is an example of a seamless map:

What I want to accomplish is the following:

User swipes the map in any direction, the viewport scrolls in that direction using Scroll To

The map/viewport should wrap, giving the impression that the map wraps around, it should be smooth, not just snap to the opposite side

There will be icons on the map, which will be clickable.

Here is a CAPX, with the map texture and a few buttons on the map, you can click and drag the map.

Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks

  • If anyone else has issues with Intel XDK, here is what worked for me:

Dont use the normal Android build function, only use Crosswalk

If you get an error on Android (cant install application), make sure you ticked Sign application.

No need to tick "media" to play sounds

If you are using AdMob, make sure "Admob plugin" is ticked

Only tick "device" in the left side panel, not device in the right panel

  • I haven't worked in C2 for about a year now due to the exports not working as expected. Today I tried the Cordova export with Intel XDK using one of the templates (RTS), was able to build and run the game on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, but its extremely slow.

I have read everything about export and performance on the forums, the official Cordova posts also looks like they are outdated.

Is there something Im doing wrong? Has anyone been able to successfully run a game on a device using IntelXDK/Cordova?

  • GeometriX

We (Open Window) have a stand (39b) there this year, come checkout the games the students made this year in C2, Unity and CryEngine

  • Thank you very much! Everything works perfect again! Banner Ads, Fullscreen ads and GameCenter. Didnt test on Android

    My setup:

    C2 v178

    Cocoonjs 2.0.0

Replaced Cocoonjs plugin (C:\Program Files\Construct 2\exporters\html5\plugins\cocoonjsads) with the files from https://github.com/ludei/Construct-2-plugin/issues/27.

I had an issue where the projects didnt want to load after replacing the plugin folder.

Deleting the "Game Center" Actions from the Old CJS plugin, and then replacing the plugin files solved the problem for me.

Ashley, if possible, can scirra please replace the cjs plugin with this one: https://github.com/ludei/Construct-2-plugin/issues/27, also, if an action can't be loaded, the project (capx) should just load without that action.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • , unity is great for mobile, desktop, but html5 (webgl) is not added yet. Thats the only reason why Im still using C2.

  • beufreecasse, yeah, tried that also, no luck.

Think Im just going to stick with unity. Hopefully with WebGl coming soon, we will be able to create html5 games with unity.

BTW, has anyone tried the open source CJS? If so, how to you compile a xcode project without using the cloud compiler?

  • I have published 6 games to ITunes/PlayStore, using CocoonJS (version 1.4.7), ads works fine, GameCenter works fine. Now Ludei removed 1.4.7. So I tried 2.0.0, 2.0.1 and 2.0.2. no ads no gamecenter.

Then I tried Ejacta, one game worked fine (ads and gamcenter),

the next, " xcode memory pressure exception".... the game is only 6mb (zipped)

    The next game, black screen.

Phonegap and AppMobi is too slow for the games, so I didn't try them.

Is it just me? Is anyone else finding publishing to mobile such a mission?
