  • Great intro to python lucid! This is exactly what the community needs to get going on python.

    *tips his hat*

I don't understand why this is done in Python, when it looks like it can be done using events (ala Functions, Families and Private Variables) just the same. However, I guess the python script is easier to type in quickly than clicking through all of the windows it takes to make events.

    Thanks for sharing Lucid!

Jayjay, No not easier to do in python but lucid was making an intro to spark interest in adding python to projects, so after you lean it you can do things that Construct can't. It is a beautifully simple example for the beginner. So while it is easier to do this in construct; if lucid would have made a huge project then most people would have passed it over.

  • As for the community being quiet and unresponsive. That's unfortunate, back when I was active on the help forums, asking for and giving help often, it was a thriving community. I suppose most of the long timers with most of the knowledge are either lurking waiting for the next big version, or busy working quietly on that big soon-to-be finished/published title. I know I am....

Well updates have slowed up, and important platform fixes are still not implemented. I am sure soon as V1.0 hits things will be different and more lively. Some people are hold off so that a new version does not mess up there project I am sure.

Construct is too awesome to die off, just quietly waiting until the final

  • btw, does this work for you: (does for me)

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1013446/workin360.cap

doesn't necessarily mean other ways of accessing the button will work, like the buttonstate expression

    OK that does work!

But in older construct builds you could just have a car movement and just add the 360 controller and it all just worked automatically. So you now have to set up everything?

  • Bah, tu ? brazileiro tch?, hahaha

?, eu li que n?o se deve utilizar o sistema de plataforma que vem no mmf, e sim utilizar um outro tro?o (tipo um aplicativo), que ? o que to utilizando e ta indo bem at? agora.

Darn universal translator is on the fritz again. It worked for Daimonmau's first post. Anyone know of a good repair center, since it is out of warranty?

  • Physics does seem to "play nice" with other behaviors. Why not post your cap so we can see?

  • Most cut scenes are done with an animation package, and then just watched by the player.

  • Very slick demo toralord

  • Why is the Xbox 360 controller still broke?

It was working great 2? 3? builds ago.....

    also Information button not working?

  • I realize the scope of this project and how valuable the time of it's creators are so I am not asking for the next update but while we wait the xBOX 360 controller be added back in as a patch? It was working great but been broke for the last few updates. I think it worked with 0.99.83, but I really miss that feature

    Thank you

  • While iPods are the in thing after doing my research I steered away from it.

At the time (and still may be true) the sandisk sansa had an FM player the ipod did not, it was cheaper, and I wanted chip memory versus a hard drive for running. it also had an additions memory slot.

The real bonus was the rechargeable battery. The sandisk had a consumer replace rechargeable battery for like $8. While the ipod had to be send away for weeks and it was like $40?

This is old news but you way want see if ipod caught up. Also ipod has many more extras hands down that I didn't want. I needed a very good running MP3 player and the sandisk sansa was perfect for me.

  • Ashley:

I don't know how you'll take this suggestion but when you release Construct v1, then maybe you could spend a month or two improving the Wiki asking help from users instead of developing construct

I think Ashley's time is much too valuable to be making wiki entires. He has already devoted so much free time for a free product. I expect it is really up to the community to pull the weight of the wiki.

Beside after relaxing with his family and work, I would much rather see his continued efforts on C2

  • I have had no problem with my wired Xbox controller until the last 2? unstable releases.

I am hoping the next release gets it working again.

  • Try Construct 3

  • First off I know very little about networking but am using a free very nice game system that you might want to see how it is done since it works so well. http://rptools.net/

I play a weekly on line game using MAPTool (by RPTools) where one of us has to be the server, and all the others just log in to the name of the server. So that may mean someone has some kind of host set up? I am the server but see all the other people's servers for the game too.

Anyway the players just use my created server name and log in to my game with an optional password.

I also have a router and it was very easy to open the port for this program.

Here is a picture of the Start up Server

  • Anime Studio uses bone animation, where you can quickly create a skeleton, which controls your 2d drawing and bends it to move with the bones. You can also drag vector graphics points around to animate deforms.

    *snip*

I saw that Anime Studio used bones but did't put much weight on that because I really have not fallen in love with Flash's bone system. But maybe Anime Studio's is better?

Any other thoughts appreciated, but it might be worth looking into.
