  If the user also has the option to customize these categories in both name and colour, then I think it can be a nice addition. Since C2 is a visual programming engine, more visual elements that help developers see through the project more easily is always a good idea imho.

  It's not bad. Officially endorsed by Bohemia... has some bugs though and feels unpolished in terms of gameplay. It's still a nice attempt though considering it was done in 7-8 months with just 2 people... one artist one coder.

  I think this idea could easily be expanded on with little effort.

  If you want only 1 instance of the object to be on the level you can try setting that if that object is not on layer then recreate.

  Maybe my old video on level construction in my isometric game will give you some ideas on how I built everything and some of the challenges. And yes, everything has to be broken into small pieces with the origin point at the base of the object for sorting.

  Yes, you can sell your game, but check the licenses of the sprites you are buying as well. If I remember right they can only be used in 1 project/license.

  I don't think it works that way with Scirra, but you'll be better of using the non-steam version anyway. However if you really want to have a Steam version, you should contact Scirra and ask them directly:

  Or, if I'm right, you can set up a custom server with Node.JS. If I recall right there's been some projects doing this.

  Also, not as nice as 99Instances2Go 's solution, but you can create an invisible dummy object for those areas you want to check and use the "Is overlapping another object" event.

  Those are the icons you see when you export your project and open it up in a browser. To change the NW.js export's icon you'll have to use a resource editor. For ex.: http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
