  • For 3 weeks and it being your first platformer, its pretty amazing! The game definately provides a challenge, I enjoyed it.

    Oh, and congrats!

  • I use a Bamboo touch tablet as well, gets the job done :)

The game feels like a prequal to your other game, as it ends with you getting in the car. Multiple game modes for platformers are really nice. I think its an improvement - but you could take it to the next level by improving the art a little. (Things like shading in the trees etc).

It would be great if you can get it working on mobile. Keep putting in the work - its starting to pay off.

  • Ah ok,

I would probably go with the original asteroids style of movement, or even potentially the same movement from the ghost tutorial - but with the added the gravity effect.

It wasnt really the mouse, it was more when you strafe it turns you in a circle pattern.

A 4x Orion game would have been awesome as well, no chance with your 100 events though :)

  • Cool game Zsangerous.

    Nice artwork.

  • Thanks Newt, I look forward to having a look at this next stable release.

  • This is pretty awesome, i really like the whole presentation.

The sound effects line up with the animation perfectly, shooting and flying around looks really nice.

Its always good to see new takes on player movement but I found it hard to control the ship how i wanted to. The reason is, it feels like a jazzed up version of asteroids but it doesnt control that way (its hard to get the ship to move how you would expect - based on other similar space games).

Still i enjoyed it, good work afgho.

  • Hahaha, that was the most random thing I have seen today :)

Im not sure how everyone feels about the artwork but I liked it. I felt the game was a little unfair at times, i would jump the oil only to be run over when i landed, or i would jump the car only for the plane to swoop down and hit me.

I liked the menus, your map looks good. Ide love to see an intro to find out why this kangaroo is so hated!

    Good work.

  • Wow, I really enjoyed that.

There are so many good things to comment on but overall it feels very polished.

Personally i found the game quite difficult, with all of the buttons flying at you i tend to lose focus of the objectives (moving and shooting). Still, its that added level of complexity that makes this shine, its the type of game that gets more rewarding the more you play it.

As far as the competition goes, 10 out of 10.

  • I can see where your going with this, once you have updated your animations and mucked around with the enemy AI - i could see this being really fun (love the lazers!).

    No framerate issues for me.

  • Nice work.

Nice of you to post the cap.x as well!

  • haha, pretty fun - some odd things were happening, but i get the impression that it was intended.

The enemy red lazers are a little bit hard to stay focused on because the stars in the background are very bright and moving at a similar speed.

    Good start!

  • Cool idea.

I really like the graphic style - its simple but the effects make it look nice. I also really like the use of colours, but the only problem is that I was getting eye strain pretty quickly.

The way the black blocks emerge from the black background - my eyes were overworking to spot them as soon as possible.

  • Pretty entertaining. Nice concept.

Is it running fine on mobile devices? I would have loved to see a little bit more background action, perhaps some parallax - if it didnt result in choppy performance that is.

    Still its pretty fun.

  • 6/10. I thought my 6th sense was pretty good too, lol.

Its an interesting/crazy theory :) can you link me to any of the studies?

How are you going in terms of results? Are you still collecting data?

  • Hey Bird,

I didnt get any screen tearing - can you post the cap.x or show us a picture of what it should look like?

From what I know, tearing issues have been related to old graphics card drivers.
