RaybriteOh nice, what kind of game do you want or like to make or is making? And can this kid tell you a little of what he likes since he's your tester?

    Kyatric

Thanks for the demo links? But im not looking for demos if you were suggesting them to me. I already looked at them anyways and im planning on looking at the monk fight demo to have as a guide for my arcade fighting game. But the discussion is about what would you like to see made in construct and visions.

  • Hello everyone. Hope everybody is doing well and safe. I want to have an open discussion of visions of what you would like to see be made more in construct and see your thoughts as well. I often scan these forums to get an idea of whats currently being made and I mostly often see a lot of friendly type games or child like appeal games and platformer types as well. And there's nothing absolutely wrong with that all. I do understand that construct is used to teach kids as well and is beginners friendly too for ppl learning game coding. So, you'll often see a lot of those games made because ppl are just starting out and are pretty easy to make. One genre of games I do see very little of on here are fighting games. Fighting games are my favorites and im planning on making one using construct after im done with my current project and second one after. The inspiration is inspired by the famous fighting sword arcade game, Samurai Shodown. And two other older realistic type fighting arcade games. Karate Champ and Karateka. So it will be a realistic base fighting arcade game. But not only do I want to make this for my personal reasons and love for fighting games, but it's also to make something for construct to have a more serious and mature type game and not so lightly of a friendly appeal to it. So, thats what I plan to do and have more made on a serious level of my taste;). But, enough from me. Let me hear what you like to see made more in construct and share your thoughts and visions!

  • Thats so nice. I played the game and i can say that this is very fun but also very educational for a child to play. Its not difficult"for an adult" but I feel like there was still good example of the problems for a child to solve. The bugs are a great examples. The only thing I experience was that sometimes the bugs would not move over to the other side when it came to some of the subtraction problems. But other than that, it felt fun but your learning as well. Hoped this worked out for your son.

  • Very nice, I love it so far and the idea of this. Your title of this post really made me laugh btw and I cant believe it's really named after that famous line from Predator lol.

    Ideas-

You should do an arcade mode for this. Something similar to Xevious, where enemies come from the corner of the screen or so and try to shoot the player down with a nice boss at the end of course. And last, maybe a co-op mode where two players can both do arcade mode together if that won't be too much for you. The enemies can just be basic grey color jets/helicopters or any color really except the colors you have for the players.

  • Finish it. Don't keep on the bookshelf forever😊👍

  • Very nice game so far! I really would play this as a full game and I don't really play these rpg rougelike dungeon type game. So, this is a good sign that your on to something good and has potential. keep it up!

Edit: I just realize, your the person thats making the "7th circle" game! Wow, your on your way if you keep this up!

  • Nice to see you two again :). Don't be sad Nutecred. It's a learning experience for all of us. You got to have a target audience and also think how you can market to the target audience. It's also very important that you get very honest opinions of what ppl think even if it's brutal honesty. And not from your family or friends. I say, don't give up and just learn from what did not work and why. If you ask me, I would say a turn off for me is the graphics of your game. It looks incomplete and not entirely finish yet. But I do think the concept is cool of riding and shooting your enemies up. you just got execute it well and try above your best of what you can do for it to look and be presentable . It's never easy, but learning from mistakes always improves you even more. I hope this help. Also, I think a good idea is to add blood when you shoot the enemy. I think that would be a cool idea in your game if you havent already added it.

  • It's fine, i'll just find a way to make it clear that the player earned their full value by changing the color of the kill points shown. One red , the other blue. If you see both, it means you earned the full value of that score. I would send you my project to take a closer look at it, but its too deep in and too much to try to take out to make a demo of. I did see your pics btw, but when I went to check on the post, for some reason they were gone. Anyways, I appreciate you and plinkies help but I found away around it and close of what im trying to do. Thanks once again.

  • Heres what the events look like and how I got it set up in my game.... oh sorry how rough the pic looks btw lol

  • Yes, your getting close! So I already got them to spawn the value of 50pts from both bullets. But thats the problem, If both bullet hits, I can't get it to spawn the 100pts. In this pic, its an early stage of my point value. You see where it says 100pts right? But if you look at the score, it says 200. Thats because it's bullet is half of that full value but been hit by BOTH bullets. So if an enemey is 50-100pts, you'll either get 50 if you hit with 1 bullet, or 100 if you hit with 2 bullets. Same if enemy is 100-200pts. 100 1 bullet. 200 2 bullets. So im trying to find a way to spawn the full value when both bullets hits enemy giving the player score the full point of that value.
