Programming was not the main focus in Construct. If you want to get your hands dirty, there's a lot of tools that can get you that. Or you could just go the manly men route and get an IDE, like Programmers' Notepad or something and type away.

In Construct, you just have to make the concession of accepting that the code you create is not typed. Not severe, really. If you REALLY need to use code because something you want is not there, you can always suggest it's inclusion in future builds or get a plugin done.

If you want to clean up your project, just open c2runtime.js in your project folder and edit it afterwards.

I too asked that question, but C2 is great as it is, so I decided to accept it and I'm quite pleased with it.

  • Yes it can. Quite nicely, I might add.

  • Good stuff, thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Seemed the most ideal way to convert C2's output to Android. I've sent them an email about it, actually.

  • Could anyone write a basic how to on how to set this up, please? I'd like to test a small app of mine on my Android, but their instructions are not clear for me:

How to execute your game inside the CocoonJS Launcher

Remove the HTML entry point file.

        Create a Canvas object manually from JavaScript. If needed, substitute document.getElementById function calls by document.createElement("canvas"); or new Canvas();

Put all your JavaScript in one file. Your whole JavaScript code should be in just one .js file.

Create a zip file with your JavaScript file and game assets. The current version of CocoonJS only loads local assets.

  • eyeliner reinstall r81 till we get the new build.

I chose "ignore" and went with it, with the layout's size being 1024. On testing things go along, so not really a breaking bug, but bad if you are developing to phones.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Is there a solution for this one in the mean time?

  • Hehehehe...

  • Well, I got it a few days ago. Twice. <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

It's the free edition, with not so severe limitations for us small developers.

Unity 3D and Construct 2 go well together, in my opinion.

Every Construct 2 user should take advantage of this move by Unity.

  • I'm not really sure what the user means. You got the domain, usually that's the thing that costs the most money. Unless you have a very strange host, all the tools are there for immediate website creation and setup, mostly with no knowledge required.

I believe all your costs are covered, depending on your plan. The rest, you spend money if you require external services.

  • Congratulations on your creation. Great art and loveable characters. Very good performance and better yet, it was made with Construct 2! <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hmm... If Kongs does not approve games anymore, a lot of trash will surely be posted on it, making good game selection hard. Let's hope that the laws of natural selection are tight there.

  • Oh, this might be a great thing, indeed.

If implemented, Construct 2 would be massive.

Ahley, look at this (all together, now) pleeeease? <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Thank you, Savvy001.

Very nice effort and great example.

  • FUDGING SETUP!!! It's like a cancer. Please use a less spammy one. Though being able to avoid every add-on it installs, it does not give a good impression of you.
