  • Cool, I preordered a few weeks ago - cant wait! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi there, have you done a general forum search on optimising mobile performance? There are tons of articles, including official write ups from Tom and Ashley. First point - if you intend to release to iPhone or android use cocoon JS. It gives excellent performance.

If you're just looking at win8 the emu probably isn't going to be 100% accurate (ever tried the android emu?) I'd suggest talking to your local MS corporate branch for assistance - they could be pretty helpful. My local MS contact has been super helpful and has offered for me to go and test on their HP slates with win8 (no surface RTs unfortunately)

Also do a forum search for win8 and testing - there are a ton of posts. Iunkn is a local expert who has an excellent blog dedicated to c2/win8 mobile integration

  • Actually no worries, I found a work-around with wamp which seems reliable:

  • Hey Guys, like many other people I've had issues with previewing. It's happened lately even with r103.2 for a big project (smaller ones seem to be ok). I tried scouring the forums for an answer including a couple of the tutorials that instructed me on opening up firewalls ports and stuff but nothing seemed to work.

I finally decided to try an alternative. Basically what I did was:

    1. downloaded wampserver (http://www.wampserver.com/en/)

    2. installed it (very easy),

    3. then exported my project un-minified to the "www" directory under where wamp was installed.

Then I was able to browse straight to "localhost/c2game" and woohoo! works everytime <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • zsangerous - so did the problem just get fixed in later versions, or did you need to structure your events in a certain way (e.g. removed your includes)?

I've never had issues before, but the latest project is quite big.

  • Hi Guys, I know this is an old thread, but did the problem go away for you? I seem to get this constantly now in a recent project for 103.2 (stable). I've even gone back and deleted out all of the includes, and then stripped the project down to just two layouts to try and debug it.

Unfortunately for me on hitting preview, it loads sometimes in an infinite loop, and other times it comes back with that "every tick" error in zsangerous' post.

  • boolean - you can try and look for a thread from R0j0Hound. He has a really cool but simple example using the lerp function.

  • Micah_OF - Wow these are absolutely amazing! Thanks I'm downloading them all. I'll be sure to credit you when I use them.

  • Take a look at the rain demo that comes with C2. You can pretty much just build upon that - it's mostly done for you. Then take a look at sites like openart.org for specific free zombie sprites.

  • System Specs: win 7, CPU: AMD II X4 630, RAM: 4GB, AMD Radeon HD6900

Opens fine for me. I haven't played your web version, so not sure how it compares, but it seemed to play fine with no discernible bugs through a good part of the first level.

Bear in mind that Awesomium is still in alpha release I believe so they probably still have bugs to iron out. I dunno if their discussion forums track which systems have issues currently?

I do have feedback on gameplay, but I guess it's not what you're after at the moment :)

Well done to our very own Yann for making #35 in the overall category - congrats!

I'm pretty sure BuffaloPhil is a C2 user, he came #36 in the mood category and high overall.

    I tanked in most areas <img src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> but made #14 in the fun category.

I think that was all the C2 users I could spot (please correct me) - so a great showing from our community for what C2 can really do! :)

So well done everybody! It was a fantastic first go for me, I definitely plan to do an many more as I can. I really encourage everyone who hasn't had a go to try it!

  • KFC, BlueSkies - hehehe, I find the gamification course to be more fun than any uni course/degree I've ever done, which includes my masters! :)

  • jwjb - nice one thanks for the links!

Yeah the Lean Launch Pad course is looking really interesting! I like the emphasis on practical application of the knowledge. Bummer I still have to go through lecture 6 for gamification to be able to do the quiz tomorrow :)
