Which is a crazy high price for a 2d game creator that doesn't do half of what Unity provides.

Yes that's true but let's not ignore that Buildbox is like the perfect form of C2. If C2 was native, had all the features of C3 and had a cool UI. It would be Buildbox.

I don't mean to start an off topic talking here, but can you elaborate in PM, since I don't know that side of GMS2 (I haven't tried it yet)?

I think it's better if i share it to all so everyone would know. My first impression with GMS2 was like when i first saw Unity3D. It looked cool, fully-loaded with tools, and had a great UI but i was instead disappointed. GMS2 on startup is laggy on mid-range PCs and i was shocked because it doesn't happen with Unity3D or with high spec required games that i play. So I investigated and found out that the startup of GMS2 was downloading contents from the background to advertise their site and etc... It's bloatware if you ask me. And there are also GMS2 skins which makes your PC use up high memory and cpu even though you haven't even started on a game project yet. There is also the GMS2 effects that use up your resources instead on focusing on ease of production. And and many more reasons.

Unity3D was fast for me and C2 was very fast. I could actually go and make games at the fastest speed that i can. But GMS2, I can't work without dealing with short lags or buffer. There is definitely something wrong with their program...

This is a reason to consider C3 more than GMS2 if you ask me.

all details regarding C3 etc will be made clear soon don't worry! We've all been working hard.

    Nice. Good news.

"- There won't be native exporters"

Sucks, I know its nothing to lots of people but its a deal breaker for me personally, I'll just keep using GMS then.

    no sale here.

Gamemaker has it's upsides because of it's native support... But remember, GM2 has many bloatwares that is it's own downside.

Tom , would there be a new and better website + forum for C3?

Any heads up for us before the upgrade?

Wait didn't they start working on C3 back in 2015 ? Besides, they wouldn't be posting screenshots of their work if it is supposed to be released after 1 or 2 years, its just doesn't make sense.

To be safe, it would be possible if they release it on 2018 knowing that Scirra might release it dependent on future build updates but it's kind of doubtful they will release it this year without being incomplete.

It absolutely makes sense, if you try participating in other game engine beta testing or pre-launches... You'll notice that they market it in this sequence, (website -> teasers(screenshots) -> alpha test -> beta test -> final release...

Gaps between the alpha and beta and final release sometimes takes a year or more.

There is no way C3 isn't going to be released this year. Do you really think that people will wait till 2019 to get it ?

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but that is so unlikely. The only reason for this announcement might just be a way for Scirra to calm us down. Imagine, there are few programmers making C3 and compare to Spark Engine with a big team that still hasn't been released, they should be able to release first before C3 ever does...

Besides, the logo also looks like it was made not so long ago. I doubt the release date will be this year. We can only expect more sneak peaks this year..

Don't get me wrong, i hope i am wrong though. I am just being realistic.

With the rate this is going, i bet the beta release will be on 2018 and the release date in the late 2019.

    Look at page 60.

Ohh Nice. Finally! Scirra is starting to show some sneak peek.

    Wednesday, right?

What's about Wednesday? Pardon me, I haven't been active for a while.

I hope i'm not too late but Ashley can i suggest a better visual support for Spriter?

Like we can interact the editor and spriter files.

Spriter has become a very popular animation program used for C2, it will be great if we can do so.

  • Kyatric - Do you by any chance know the amount of load it can handle simultaneously? It doesn't have to be accurate, just an approximation.

  • glerikud - Yeah, i'm using IntelXDK. I do hope that the issue is gone now.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

I am not getting any revenues from that show !

And the rest of shows are made by me. So I am the owner of them. And if you are talking about cartoon network characters I drew myself in the image banner. Well...This website is like a blog and I am just uploading my art on it as if its for my friends only. But I will do a copyright notice in my site regarding all that and that I am not going to monetise copyrighted content !

And for the games. They are paid ! So I use music free from copyrights !

You really made me frustrated !

If I didnt monetise the website and didnt make earnings from animations. Will they pass the copyrighted music in my animations ! I mean its just a hobby not a job. Just activities and projects !

Hey! I'm just telling you the truth, don't make me the bad guy. At least someone told you your mistakes before it's too late.

Again i'm not a lawyer, so it's your choice if you want to believe anything i say from now on.

First, afaik i think you can get away with banners filled with cartoon characters as long as it's a non-paid game or website, it has NO ADS! and somehow in a parodic way. But you already know the downside, you can never make your game look professional because of that limitation.

Second, making your game a resemblance of a popular game + naming it the same or nearly the same, or as a sequel or prequel, is i believe an illegal act. Unless it's a parody of the original game. But i guess a copyright disclaimer will help, but that really depends more if the company actually cared.

Remember your game "Minecraft Legend Series"? That's it.

Third, here this is the one that should be put attention to. You really can't host a streaming site on the net without a license.

Even if you don't monetize your site, it's still illegal regardless.

But again, that all only depends if the company would actually care.

BTW... I don't know if you really put one but i've seen something there that mentions about your site having Ads, that's actually trying to earn and that would be bad in your case.

Okay! This is the last time i will reply to this, because we are not in the right part of the forum to discuss this.

Why copyright issues ! Whats wrong in it !

Before that, i just want you to know that i'm not a lawyer and everything i tell you starting now may or may not be true.

Regarding your question, a lot actually, i thought it was already very obvious. I don't want to spoil your site and all . But it's totally going to end up shut down when Nickelodeon, 20th Century Fox, Cartoon Network, Mojang, 4J Studios and etc. finds out about your site, but that depends if they care.

First, unless you have legal ties with Nickelodeon i suggest don't host a streaming site on your website with videos you are not licensed to show.

Second, don't use movie or cartoon pics for your website design, that's copyright infringement.

Third, don't use names of popular games for your own games. That is illegal afaik.

For the others, you should research about it. I have already given you a head start.

But atleast you've tried and are determined making your own site, i give you credit for that.

Anyway this might not be the right place for this.
