  • Thank you for the update, much appreciated!

  • Using classic mode for scripts indeed works!

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this fix, I'm very glad to be able to use this addon again.

  • Hi!

Same here, this (fantastic) behavior worked great in C3 stable r225, but now throws this javacript error using the new stable C3 version (r234).

I really love this behavior and would be very happy to know if there is a way to fix it : )

  • If you're still using Node Webkit 10.5 for your game, it will be rejected by Apple on the Mac Appstore because it uses a quicktime library they don't want you to use anymore.

Mac Appstore isn't important to me, but I thought it could be nice to share the info so you guys are aware of this.

(No idea if updating Node Webkit fixes this issue)

Hi! Your steam ID in the same root folder as your .app, and if you're using nw 10.5, you should add the "in process gpu" tag in your package to be sure the overlay is correctly displayed

(more details in this very topic)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I had the exact same problem again a few days ago. I got lucky this way, I hope this can be helpful:

    • export the game on PC.
    • Don't touch anything, anything, before making a .rar of it.
    • Uncompress and do the greenworks, steam lib, package modifications, ignore gpu blacklist etc... on a Mac, not on the PC.
    • Compress in rar again, then decompress and upload on Steam from the PC.

I don't know if it is related to a macOS update, but it's like any modification on the PC corrupts all the files permissions now : /

    (Thanks for the kind words!)

Once exported, you can edit your package.json with notepad.

You'll find some " --enable gamepad" and other things in it.

Adding lines like --ignore gpu blacklist" or "in-process-gpu" (look for other threads about this, you'll find many of them) will help your game to run alright on many configurations.

Most of these tags don't work anymore on latest NW, that's why many of us are still using nw 10.5. It has bugs, but they're known, which helps a lot when using google to fix stuff.

Danwood > NW 10.5 for achievements support, using Greenworks 0.3. You may have to add the --in process gpu- chrome arg so the notifications are correctly displayed on windows and linux)

    Congrats for being greenlit!

It would be a shame to not add achievements, you still can do it using NW 10.5

You game seems to be light enough to do it without problems.

(Also, for you Mac export, be sure you don't have any fully -or very nearly- empty/transparent PNG file, I just found this is causing issues on some Mac graphic cards,)

  • Yeah, I know, this post sounds silly, very sorry for this.

I'm looking for the default save states files from games made using C2 r186, and I can't find them anymore. My many "roaming" windows searches weren't that successful.

(One of my Steam customer is having troubles to start a new game, and I'd like to make sure his files aren't write protected.)

    Thanks a lot!

    Thanks! : )

Yes, I used NW 10.5 but If you have a lot of ressources in your game, you should wait. Node Webkit has serious troubles to launch games on Mac/Linux featuring around 500 files and you'll be super busy wasting hours and hours of your time doing tech support for your players. (also, Mac+Linux sales are like 1% from my total sales)

When I wrote this tutorial () , I had nor multiplayer nor translated graphic ressources included. Adding those few files now make it irrelevant even for my game.

I won't lie, I'm very pissed at Node Webkit (tried any version of it + any version of C2) for not being able to launch properly a medium sized projects on Mac and Linux. It's like, sometimes it loads, sometime it doesn't, on the same hardware. Good luck to face your customers, and to sign any Mac or Linux deals or any partnerships with that in mind.

I guess this thing is only made to package small web apps as .exe files and nobody cares because nobody ever tried to export a medium sized game with it in their team. And if one day they fix this issue, you'll be stuck by Greenworks not working on latest NW versions, so...

So, my advice would be to only focus on the PC version for now, really. NW 10.5 works great, achievements support works great as well, simple life.

I wish I never tried to sell the game for Mac and Linux and sticked with PC only.

On the other side, if your project is light enough, just go for it and forget everything I just wrote! Everything should be ok!

    ...

until you update it with more content and translations.

  • Hi guys! Thanks a billion for the kind words. I'm trying to catch up with everything (like... last minute bugs) and as soon as it's done, I'll post some detailed news here : )

I had to remove achivements for the linux version so it can run ok.

Any update on this issue would be fantastic : )

  • The most important thing with conventions is to actually MEET editors and youtubers so they know you for the next months.

I haven't attended a convention in the last months and really feel a difference with the game's launch right now.

Early access release (PAX + Gamescom) > posts on every major websites like destructoid, rock paper shotgun, gamespot, younameit.

Full release 2 days ago (out of money for conventions for months) > I got to contact sites one by one to tell them I still kind of exist.

    My two cents : )

please please please yes : )
