  • ASHLEY! I PROMISE THAT IF I EVER MEET YOU IN REAL LIFE IN SOME "CONSTRUCT CONVENTION 2010" I'LL GIVE YOU A BIG KISS!

    Custom shaped collision masks!!!

And the corruption protection is awsome! Great great build!

  • When i tried to run my game (which i had run before many times) it gave me:

    runtime error

    out of memory.

with a big angry X. What does that mean?

  • Nice, now it works! Nice little game!

  • dammit!! I really need to get money for a ps2 graphics card! Right now i can't even open 2/3 of the things on this forum!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • took me some time to find it too

  • If you press home at the top of the screen there is a little area called "bars". If you click "animator" the animators tab/bar/whatever should appear.

    Hope this solves your problem!

  • Since there now is a topic about small fixes that will increase the speed i have some suggestions too.

-Pressing enter in the action window should not only work for "next" but also for "finnish".

-Insert new condition, Insert sub-event, invert condition, insert event, insert comment, insert group, and include event sheet should be replaced by; Condition, Sub-event, Invert, Event, Comment, Group and Event sheet. Right now it's very hard for example to separate Insert condition from Invert condition, and it takes longer time to find what you're looking for since you automaticaly read the word "insert" five times each time you're looking through the list of things to do.

-When you're writing an expression and going to write for example player.value('mana') the word "mana" popps up as a suggestion. If you press enter only the word mana is added, not the last ') .

(warning, not really sure about this. could be stupid idea.)

-If you move something to a layer, that layer should automatically be selected. When you're moving something to another layer it is usually (for me at least) because you realized you where working on the wrong layer. Also, if you create an object and the selected layer is invisible, it should be turned visible, or you shouldn't be able to create objects on invisible layers.

  • Split screen is the shit! This is definately something that will be needed in the future!

  • You can using the tracking hided in the turret behavior.

Give it a low rotation speed. And it will slowly rotate towards its target.

Or fast with a hight rotation speed, as you wish.

Snap its position to your object, and snap the objects angle to the turret angel.

    A small .cap to illustrate.

    download/file.php?id=100

Thank you for the tip! didn't think of that!

  • I don't think so, but it would be handy. I'd like that too.

  • It's easy to do with detectors and just a few events, but sure, it would be nice, but i don't think it's high priority.

Nothing is high priority right now eccept fixing the bugs that corrupts your .caps

  • Hello and welcome to construct and the forums!

Construct sure is more powerful, flexible, and effective to use then mmf, but i have to warn you. Crashing and making your files unreadable is kind of constructs thing right now. Ashley is hunting the bugs desperately so they will hopfully be gone within a few new builds, but right now you have to be very careful, and use autobackup and autosave.

It happened two times yesterday that construct started to save unreadable files without crashing. The result was that when it crashed and i tried to open the latest backup, six of my backups was corrupt and i had to start over from quite a while back.

So take it easy. Dont get scared away because of that. It will be fixed.

  • I don't think it's made for collision testing between layers with diferent scroll values at all. I think it's beter like it is now then if it would collide where the object is on the screen.

  • He got me again, but not as hard this time. Her's my story.

I was moving some sprites around, trying to find if i accidentaly had some duplicates on top of each other, when suddenly when i was dragging an object i got a strange error message saying that "an unknown error occured when accessing *path to my .cap*. I klicked ok, and everything worked as it should again. I ran the app and it worked. then i switched to the event list editor to try to fix a bug in my game. While i was looking at the evends WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING i got the same message again. i klicked ok and everything was ok. then i tried to save the .app and got the "serious saving error" message. I thought it had corrupt my .cap as so many times before and i tried to open the latest backup. "An unknown error occured while accessing an unnamed file". I tried with the next backup and it didn't work either. It turns out that my latest six backups where corrupt. I restarted from my latest working backup. Everything worked but the "and unknown error" kept popping up without me doing anything. I talked on msn for a while and when i returned i got 3 of them. I closed the program, and it worked again.

When i was about to upload a file to this topic and looked through the latest backup i found that one of the files gave me an other error message. I had three "unnamed file" .caps, and then one " *path to my .cap* was not found" and then two more "unnamed file". I'm sending all of the corrupt .caps to you ashley.

Could this be the same thing that happened a while back when all my 50 backups of my game was ruined? That time it destroyed versions that i had been using before and that i knew should work. This time it might have been that it just saved the same error to five backups.

Edit: Now when i was looking through the files again to try to find what files was corrupt one of them suddenly said: There is not enough video memory to open this frame editor. Please close some other editors and try again.

I've lost the orientation. you'll get a bunch of like 7-8 diferent corrupt files.

  • Ok, i got it again. Now i was talking with my friend in msn, and when i returned to construct and tried to run the app. i got "and invalid texture was referenced. this is a bug, please report it" then i got some other message that i accidentaly clicked away (it was a large one i remember) then i closed the app and tried to open it again i got the mysterious "Error with loading: expecting class (CObj), but recieved (bj"

Note that the program did not crash. it just couldn't run the app, so i closed it myself.

Edit: wait, her's the other message:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime error!

    Program: *lots of folders*\Application Data\Scirra\Temp.exe

    abormal program termination
