  • Downloaded game from other thread and after first level (collecting flag) I couldn't complete level 2 (was no flag).

PM'd with help. Remember, this is a hard game.

    Fixed, Kyatric. :)

  • Demo page: construct.net/en

    Donations page: rockethub.com/deals

Prize: Up to four (4) second prize winners win a current full version copy of the game for Windows Pc which has 20 levels, a finished version of Block Critter for Windows PC (valued at up to $1.99-$2.99), and being listed in the credits as an Epic Supporter! A first place winner wins the current copy of the game and the finished copy, and gets his own screen in the game as an outstanding fan along with being in the credits. Also, first prize gets an exclusive art document showing character prototypes, etc.

    What you have to do:

Finish the demo and tell me in this thread what you thought of the final level. You will be entered to win through a random drawing. This ends Sunday, March 10 and drawing will take place then.

Reason for this competition: We want people to enjoy this game and want people to have a full version copy and more. We just can't afford to give the game away free to everyone - at least not without the right donation!

  • I have a new donations page up as well: rockethub.com/deals

You can read about the team and what we need the money for.

  • hi thanks for that.

can you answer another query for me.. After my initial interest I read some more of your threads/ posts. And came across this one

"I'm selling the rights to a fun action puzzle game. The game is in development but shouldn't take that long to finish. You pay for the rights to the game and the continued development of it. Pm me your Skype if interested, we will talk about it."

    with the same screenshots/ pictures..

if I was to invest into one of your prizes, and in the meantime you sold the rights to this game.

What would happen to my investment/ my prize then?

    thanks

When or if selling the rights, terms and conditions would be named by me. One of those terms would be that what you paid for would be kept in the game.

  • A site that just gives you the money that anyone donates without reaching any type of minimum or having defined project would be the same as just asking for paypal donations. I don't see how this would help in place of what options are already out there...

Nobody likes it when people ask for donations through Paypal for some reason. Don't ask me why.

A crowdfunding website simply offers a number of benefits. Possible increased exposure. A professional layout. Etc. Also, what's this about no minimum or defined project? You need a defined project. And you would still specify a minimum, you just wouldn't lose any money if you didn't reach it.

  • I'd like to see a crowdfunding website centered toward Construct 2 games. Crowdfunding is donating money to projects, and this would be for funding the development of games. I'm pretty sure you can still use something like Kickstarter while using this if you really wanted to. Kickstarter is all or nothing but this site would let you keep the money you make, and since everything is c2 games, it reduces the noise of other websites like Indiegogo offering more than just games for display. Actually, I don't even care if it's apps, so long as it's c2.

The problem is, I don't have the money to make such a website happen. Someone here with the ability should create one and ask a small fee like most crowdfunding sites do to cover the costs. You would need a website capable of handling traffic.

You can use my idea free of charge and I ask no royalty. We can all collectively advertise such a website.

  • $40 - a character will be named after you.

$50 - be a NPC in the game (real picture of yourself required).

$70 - be the final villain (real picture of yourself required).

$85 - have a level custom made to your liking.

Hi, can you explain in more detail the above. How can you make the villain look like a person when the sprites are so small

    thanks

Although the sprites are small, the game is extremely high resolution. It goes as high as 1536x2048 for the game, and is generally scaled down for PC. I think we can pretty much work this out. Also, what will happen is that an artist will digitally create a say villain from a picture of you.

  • I like the little mouse. Has a lot of character. Best wishes for your project.

I think you mean either the block critter or the polar bear cub. :D But thanks!

Hello, here is a beta demo for my game Block Critter: mediafire.com

The full game will have at least 20 levels, and has a tentative release date of April. This game is meant for iPad but this demo is for PC.

To play the demo: Press any keyboard key at the title screen. Use the mouse and left mouse button to play the game, including to press the dpad buttons.

  • The game is an action puzzle game that will have 20 levels that is designed for mobile iOS but can be converted to other platforms. Here are a couple of screenshots for the game:

The reason why I ask for Skype is because instant message is the only way of doing business. I don't care if it's not the industry standard.

  • I want to make an action RPG but am embarrassed that I don't really have a storyline. The game will be all about puzzles and finding secrets with some action. The protagonist will be an 18 year old, light blue haired male. Every once in awhile, a pretty goddess will come around the town for some reason. I would also like to implement God in the game somehow and have the character have to make a tough moral choice because of that. But implementing God and the tough moral choice is entirely optional. I haven't decided yet whether the protagonist is a warrior or a magician.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I'm a C2 scripter who needs an artist. There are probably some artists here who need a programmer. Want to exchange talent for free?

Here is what some others have to say about my programming and gameplay:

"thetrue has a great since of logic and can program some really fun experiences." - constructdude

"thetrue is good at making tricky puzzles" - SpacialPumpkin

  • Things didn't go too well with my last asking for donations. But I have something to show now and my reasons for asking for money are slightly less trivial. My game - Block Critter: rockethub.com/deals

The art is a work in progress. Here is a most recent screenshot of the game: i50.tinypic.com/2lw2808.png

InvaderX also has a game on Rockethub: rockethub.com/deals

  • It says that pixels are doubled on the iOS retina display. I don't understand what that means. I'm making an iPad game at 1536x2048 resolution. Does this mean I should set it to "All devices"?
