  • Hello everybody...

well, here i leave a little preview of something i'm working on. LocoMundi, my other project is stand by, cause its giving me some problems with construct... This is just an idea i wanted to try, still need fix a lot of problems... for example, the wolf run animation looks like a dog (neck more than anything). Still can be a fun game if i get time to continue it.

Give it a try, all the instructions are inside.

Soon i'm going to post a game that some of my students did... but first i need fix it a little... lets say that is a little impossible to finish the first half of the first lvl...

  • Wow I like your style! Very bright and cartoony! I'll check it out when I get out of school.

You're a teacher? What class do you teach?

  • Wow very cool looking game! I love the animation, it is very smooth! The title screen's menu blurs into the background, since it's only basically black and brown, so maybe you should brighten the menu (start game and such) a bit. The presentation was very professional, I do worry that without some in-game control explanations, it may be a bit confusing for some players, b/c there's a lot of actions you can perform.

I'm curious to see more of this game in action! I give it the Midnight seal of quality!

  • Thanks for your comments midnight. Ya, figured that the menu need be fixed... wanted to use a effect of construct, but that wasn't the best one, hehe.

I added that explanation cause i'm working more in the gameplay than the game by now... usually i love more that than do the game... the idea is that you learn to play in the first stage... and my idea is try to make the player learn without me to write in the screen "press control and you eat for recover your health"... still trying to figure how to explain it without words...

    <img src="http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e175/xentar/mockupForest.jpg">

Tested a more dark stage (forest) and looks cool, but the GUI need have color, or going to blend with the background. In this mockup i'm selecting some colors... still don't know the best ones, but well... for that i'm making mockups. hehe, and the cuartelate effect convert my draw in something interesting, still need work a little more in the layered background, but... = looks fine. Still want to add tons of game mechanics, so i'm observing some wolf movies so i can figure more actions.

See you all around. wish i get more comments ^^

  • Wow this is actually a very cool and original concept.

Maaan I love the dark style of your games. We might have to collab on something someday.

  • This looks really promising! So when you say students do you mean your teaching Construct to school sudents? If so that is so friggin awesome!

Its hard to make a gamer discover something for themselves...you could perhaps put them in a situation where they must eat to go to the next part of the game...like perhaps your given a feed when your only a baby and you must eat to grow larger... or perhaps you could have another wolf teach you what to do

  • are you using live trace in illustrator? LOL

  • looks more like photoshop's cutout effect.

Not to derail but I got my teacher to allow the level two students in my tech class to use construct. So we may have a few people using it to attempt to win a competition.

  • ya, is the cutout effect, but i already fixed it and redraw all the forest for make it layered... looks really better.

About my students, i'm giving classes on a university. The class its called Technolgy, is for animation students. I'm teaching them Game Design, but more oriented for make them think in a logic way, and in a graphic way... cause i can't teach them programation. Found Construct and decided to use it, cause have a nice graphic scripting language, easy to understand and easy to explain. ^^

  • Sorry if i double post, but no one commented more. Here a new update of the work in progress... still need work in more mechanics i have in mind (and they are so many... so i can have a really solid engine for start the game) I added some intructions and fixed some bugs, wish it work without so much problems.

Wish i get comments and ideas, if you have them.

This time it comes with some audios.

    Have fun ^^

  • amazing just amazing

the art style is awesome and the wolf is really fun to play as. the fighting is kinda wierd, can you kill the snake? I tried but nothing seem to happen. Really though, the animation for the wolf flows pretty well. Switching between battle is kind of annoying though. Maybe there should be just a normal mode which allows you to walk and eat and then a combat mode for running and fighting. the water weighing you down to the point where you have to shake it off to run was an interesting idea. Such a cool game. The ledge grabbing in the lower pits was kind of buggy though. Looking forward to another release of a bigger level that is more fun to explore.

  • Try Construct 3

  • I think I found a bug:

run to the left (off screen)

when you come back on screen the wolf sprite is missing

  • Nah, that's not a bug... there's no wall there to stop the player so the wolf has just dropped off the edge of the world .

It's actually way below the level, falling through the void... forever

  • Man, really digging the style of this game! :) Can't wait to see how you expand on the combat.
